A classmate of my lil one was diagnosed with cancer over a year ago. He was told he had a couple of months to live. He went for chemotherapy regularly and came to class sparingly - depending when he was feeling good and didn't interfere with his treatment.
The news had made it to most kids and we had to talk to our then 6 year old about health issues and how it can affect people's lives, about illness and cancer, chemotherapy, loss of hair, about the possibility of life ending no matter how old or how young you are, and the importance to treat others with respect and show them love when they are alive.
Anywayz, the lil boy went well past the couple of months he was given to live. In fact he was doing good/better and being a kid (playing, going to school, etc) for several months after. My daughter then changed schools, and I am not quite sure how that boy's health progressed. I hope he is continuing to beat the odds he was given and is doing better.

Not everything I post or say on foro are necesarily true facts. <- THAT is a fact! :blankstare:
My niece who is 7 yrs old recently had one of her best friends and classmate diagnosed with bone cancer. She has lost all her hair and a month ago had to have her leg am****ted. My niece has had a hard time understanding why her friend is suffering so much. I am not sure what to say half the time.
Today I wake up and on news I see that a man killed his daughter in the Don Mills and Steeles area. The house is literally across the street from my parents house. My niece also lives and goes to school in the area. After the shock wore off I started thinking what if this little girl goes to my nieces school. I thought that if she did she would be in the same grade!! I just got a call from my brother....when he dropped off my niece at school this morning there were like 10 cop cars there. We have a feeling it may be a classmate. Poor little innocent girl.
I really wish crazy men would just kill themselves
OMG that is extremely sad. I heard the news this morning and i swear, my eyes get watery and i feel like crying. And about your niece, that's a tough one. Maybe go to sick kids and ask for info on how to speak to kids her age about these things.
THAT is an EXCELLENT idea!!!!
@El Mismo: Yup! That's the guy.
@Chilenita: DEFINITELY bring her on Sunday!!!!!!
