I THOUGHT IT WAS COMPLETELY LEGAL FOR WOMEN TO BE ABLE TO GO TOPLESS IN TORONTO IF THEY WANTED TOO WHY IS IT NOT OK FOR THEM TO BREASTFEED??CUZ THERES A BABY AT THE END OF A BOOB?? WERE WE ALL NOT BREAST FEED!
Yes its true, as long as women cover up, I think its perfectally fine. Maybe 50 years back it was more of a common thing, so many were use to seeing women with their titis half way out. But now its a bit different......
The few times that I needed to breastfeed and there was no "baby room" around I covered up. Not so much because of what people thought more just because it made me more comfortable.
The sight of a women breast feeding does not bother me one bit. It's a very natural thing and this the BEST thing you can do as a mother for your child.
I say if your baby is hungry FEED IT and it should not matter where and when. If you feel like covering up go ahead and if you feel like you don't need to then that's fine too. For those who don't want to look - then don't.

I amin between 2 opinions. I think that the brestfeeding is a must do when the woman can and that it should be done anywhere when needed. I think that for the mothers comfort.....most of the time, I am sure, a little blanket like Colo's mentioned will be the way to go. I know that it is what I will be doing, specially bc if you are out with your baby, you have to have one of those with you anyway.
Now I think that it is/or can be somewhat inappropriate for woman to do it @ the dinner table in a restaurant...I mean can't you go to the restroom ? etc..... but It is more bc of commun sense that anything else.
I think if pple start to complain bc of religious beliefs, for example, then, it would be ridiculous, then maybe we should forbide ppl to wear any distinctive sign of religious believe, etc....
And as Guada mentioned above, what pple, teens and kids can see or get access too, in terms of violence and "sexual" program worries me way more que la gente que se ofusca por ver una madre amamentando a su bebe, lo cual es lo mas normal.

I don't see anyting wrong with breastfeeding in public. Although i never did it. But when your child starts crying, you just can't wait until you find a spot because sometimes there aren't any. I do think that they should cover themselves with a blanket, since we are in a world where there are many pervs out there.
Leave Me out of your comments, would you?
Yeah... women should not be affraid/ashamed to feed their lil ones in public... but best for all if covered properly under a receiving blanket.

If love is the answer, could you rephrase the question?
When i've had to breastfeed in public, i would usually put a small receiving blanket over my babies. Not necessarily for everyone else but more for myself, i guess i didnt want anyone getting a glimpse of my boobies.

I don't find it wrong, just that it would be nice if all mothers covered up properly, since It's not apropiate to be faulting ur boobs in public, even if ur feeding ur kid.
I don't see anything wrong with it. Why is it ok to show overly sexed programs, music, ads and so on and THIS is what causes chaos among the public? It's not even sexual.
Pfft, everything is so backwards. Blah, the public makes me sick!

I personally don't want to see a woman breast-feeding her child but I suppose my mentality will change once I have my own, but...........I still don't want anyone to see my child feeding from my breasts!!!!
When I saw the picture in this article, I was thinking, "Uh yeah no!!! "
