@ Chilenita - Yes i agree with u that tons of Ecua are llorones y sabidos to try to get easy money, but I doubt that we are the highest rates of being like that. Totally doubt it! If anything all the ones i ever hear @ are central americans. (no offence to any1). My parents have a friend that works directly in these cases & she's always talks @ how El Salvador, Ticos, Guatemala, Nicos, etc are way abussing the system & that they are gettng tighter.

Again I don't know for fact, but I'm sure there is tons of Ecuas, but not by far the ones in the most.

Just because of that comment above.gif the ring campaign is off. furiousfuriousfuriousfurious

And the tomato campaign begins: boo.gifboo.gifboo.gifboo.gifboo.gif

Oh no I am not talking about Canada just this company.  At this company for some strange reason they are famous for bogus comp cases.  Out of the Hipspanics for some reason they are the most well known and they all go to the same doctor. weirdface

@LG no I can't give you his namefurious

I will sell it to you though biggrin

Strange but true fact.  We have many hispanic people working here at this company at different job sites.  For some strange reason most comp cases we have to deal with are people from Ecuador.  They all go to the same doctor who will write them any note they want.weirdface

Some of the hardest working people we have at sites are also from Ecuador but they get a bad rep around here due to the MANY "injured" ones the Company has to deal with.weirdface

Hay de todo - bueno y malo de cada pais.

Pssstt: what's the doc's name and address? giggle.gif

Hi guys I don't if some of u read my post two months ago when I just got injured at my work place(DayCare), well the thing is that I went thru the WSIB and they told me my work place was not register, then I spoke with my work place and they told me the don't have any private insurance also, so I just apply to the EI. The thing is that now I have to get 6 weeks of Phisioterapy but the Doc told me that with 2 weeks of it I can go back to work. Well I told my boss on friday this and on monday she received the copie of my WSIB report and she told me she didn't like how it sound, ok everything was the true but she didn't like how it sound because "I was not dying or bleadding to dead" so in any case now she is telling me that she doesn't want me anymore in there but she is not gonna fired me because she doesn't have any motives to do so, but she says that the other co-workers (the teacher whom I assist) is upset with me because she act like nothing happend to me and she did, so now she is telling everybody is gonna make me the life impossible! now she is telling me this injure is una MENTIRA, tomorrow Im getting the letter from the doctor but I need to know what can I do? please anybody wants to guide me?

Is your boss also the owner?   If not you might want to consider talking with the owner of the daycare.  Hopefully the owner will act more resposibly and be more cooperative in your situation.

In any workplace injury you need to document as much as you can and get witnesses accounts on paper.

Good luck

I don't think she's SOL.

I would think she CAN do SOMETHING with the help of the Ministry of Labour's help - specially if her injury is legit. I suspect the size of the company and whether or not they are unionized may play some kind of role into this. But again - best call the people in the know - number above above.gif.

Good Luck.

Actually Duro even if you are there for 20 years they can just pay you out and say bye.

At the end of the day if they pay you out they can fire you without any problems.

Companies don't like WSIB claims especially when they don't think you were really injured.

How did you get the injury?

@Lorena:  I would suggest you contact The Ontario Ministry of Labour EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Information Centre at 416-326-7160 and get all the information you need directly from them. They should be able to guide you and tell you how to deal with your situation. Good Luck!

I think you need to see/talk to someone that knows what's up with these situations
I'm not sure any one here knows the REAL answers to your problem
Isn't there "el centro hispano" does that exist anymore?
