The Friendly Dominican Resturant has been closed for quite some time now.  At 1st I thought it will re-open and have a new look but I now realized that it will not open again?  I loved eating there back in the dayz, I'm talking back in the late 90's.  The last time I ate there, I saw new people, I'm guessing it wuz taken over by new management, then next thing I know it wuz closed?  Anybody know que paso con este restuarante?  I miss that delicious Dominican food?confused

Never really thought about it until now that babes mentioned it.  There aren't Cuban or Puerto Rican joints?  I can understand with the Puerto Ricans since there ain't none here or is there?  I have not met one Puerto Rican since they are all in the U.S next to home.  I know there wuz one Cuban resturante on the Danforth a few years back but it's gone now.  Are there any other Cuban joints around?  All I see are South American and Central American joints, don't get me wrong I like them but would love to taste something new.

Hey guys, opening and maintaining a restaurant is definetely not easy. You'd have to find someone with the right focus and determination and dedication. And of course, location, location and location. Having monetary support doesn't hurt either!

In Canada, its harder to open and operate a store/restaurant, than if you were to be back home, simply because of all the regulations that you'd have to comply with.

I guess once entreprenuers realize all the work that's involved, some ppl just forget about it.

But you're right, there are not many latin places that cater to the Caribbeans (Cuba, Dominican, Puerto Rico, etc.)

...just my two cents :)
