How many of you guys know a woman who owns her own business? How many of you know a woman who has many talents (get off this thread, you pervs) and is not putting them to good use? I know a few, who are working menial jobs and whose life is spent trying to put some food on the table for their kids (usually 'cause they're the only parents their kids have) and are just wasting away their talent. What will it take for these women to get out of the hole? Is this their problem? Is this our problem, as a community? How do we, as a community, help these women? I remember reading something back home on communal kitchens, where a group of women would gather together to feed everybody (just like in hunters and gatherers times, I guess). You know how it is: when a group of women get together, they chat (gossip), but they also inspire one another and get projects going and do arts and crafts and cook and sew and so many other things that can get done. How come we don't have something like this over here, in Toronto?

easy no time!!! everything here is time consuming think about how much time u spend driving or transiting up and down from home to work ALSO like u said alot are single mothers who are too busy raising kids getting stuff ready for the next day and many of us our mothers just have that language barrier!

It's a vicious cycle until someone drastically decides to break it....
YOU GOTTA DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO GET DIFFERENT RESULTS.... IF YOU KEEP DOING THE SAME THING YOU'VE ALWAYS DONE, YOU'LL KEEP GETTING THE SAME RESULTS YOU'VE ALWAYS GOTTEN.....
How's THAT for motivation....LOL
(not helpful...but motivational)
I think people need to take action for themselves....and it all starts with a dream or a goal.....or an ambition to become better.....
Then you talk to others....do research, use the resources available to you.....and go from there.....
Laziness doesn't help either....and lack of confidence in your talent sucks too....
HOW CLEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
