X- thank you! And you're right about the rice. Last night i had some before the workout and what a difference it was. Mind you the instructor also gave us more time to catch our breath before the next drill, so that also helped.

Good for you Guada, I have been working out since January and I still have to shock my muscles once in a while... I wish I could take this call with you, it sucks I live in Cambridge, I don't get to do any fun stuff with you guys....

Yes guada it is!! your muscles are not use to it and are growing new fibers(or whatever there called) my old trainer explained it to me but if after a few workouts there still hurting ur not getting enough water or oxygen to them! ask EL PIBE he knows this stuff!! and good for you!!

idea That's right! EL PIBE!
Well, another thing i want to know is why i was so light headed? i mean dizzy! i had to sit down or fall face flat on the mats.

Should i have eaten something light to give me more energy prior the workout?

And hey! good for you gals! please enter your journals here when you start! w00t.gif

if u start to get light headed and feel dizzy u should stop right away, it means that u r working ur body to hard or not enough power for it to keep going, always try to eat something before like an hour before so ur body has something to burn to give u energy, I find that rice works wonders for me, I can go on for ever after i eat rice ;)
always drink water, even better get gatorade.....your body is losing not just water but also salt so u need to give it back.....this is probably the reason ur muscles where hurting u so much.

so last night was a little better, i streched my overly sore muscles, and today i actually walk straight. Legs are sore, but that's ok.

I never sweated so much in my life. I love it.

Ohhh nice!!! let us know how today goes.

Here's the thing... you will ALWAYS be sore after a workout, especially when its your very first week.  Your body is still adjusting to the strain of getting in shape, but once your body is used to the strain, it will be like a walk in the park.  Then once that happens, you need to change up your routine and put your body back through hell again just so that you can feel that soreness and burn again.

Oh its a vicious vicious cycle.

But wouldn't a walk in the park cause severe strain? confuse.gif Especially if it's a big ass park? more confused.gif

It is a well known fact that muscles ache a whole lot more a couple of days after a strenuous workout. Then again, there's a good chance I'm making this up. shrug.gif(Pls. refer to Blind Agatha Christie thread).

Seriously, though, stretching does wonders to help ease the pain, like Buggy there suggested. What helps even more, though, is never working out again.

De nada.

LB--i thought i did, but i'm just not sure if it's normal for it to feel so sore (specially my abdomen). I swear i walk like a abuelita.

I'm going to look for that Balm you mention, porque after today's session, i don't think my muscles will have adjusted.

Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing workout. Mind over matter.

Did you stretch well before and after the workout?

Try TIGER BALM for muscle soarness...it smells like Vicks but it helps....

So, i did it. I joined a Thai boxing gym.

My first session was on Tuesday, to learn the basics.
I groved through the first half our of drills. But it got more intense. How intense you ask?
well for starters, i didn't know las estrellitas were so low.
Yeah, i almost passed out, i tried so hard to catch my breath.

But i managed. And at the end wobbled my way back home sweaty like a tunco in a hot sauna.

The next day (yesterday), i was sore, but it wasn't too much. So i figured hey! that's good!
As the day progressed, it became harder and harder to move my joints. Places i never knew i used began to hurt.

This morning, i was a walking board. Why does it hurt so much NOW? is it normal?

Today i go again for another lovely hour of drills, this time i will bring water ohmygod.gif. I never realized how much i suck at pushups.

But by god, i will be a toned walking machine, I WILL!

Stay tuned.
