Agreed... looks more like a sulking spoiled brat to me. But then again, who knows.

In all fairness, I can't see him hitting her... if anything it looks like he's trying to stop her from hitting him
The closest thing to looking like a "blow" from him, is him trying to stop one of her punches (40th second)

Intervention order for Ukrainian swim coach

An intervention order has been taken out on the Ukrainian swim coach who was filmed in a fight with his daughter at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne last night.

Mihail Zubkov, 38, who is also his daughter's coach, was filmed remonstrating with 19-year-old Kateryna Zubkova in the marshalling area at Rod Laver Arena.

He is due to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow morning and swimming's governing body FINA has revoked his accreditation over the incident.

The intervention order prevents the man from coming within 200 metres of his daughter or making any contact.

Superintendent Mick Williams said the primary concern for police was the woman's safety.

"Victoria Police has a strong no-tolerance approach to family violence incidents," he said.

"It matters not whether it's a resident of Victoria or a visitor as it is in this case.

The crimes family violence legislation applies to all.

"Part of the family violence process and taking out the intervention order is to ensure that the girl is in a safe environment and her welfare is being looked after," he said.

"Victoria Police in conjunction with M2007 (the World Swimming Championships organising committee) are facilitating that."

Ms Zubkova today won her heat in the women's 50 metres backstroke but missed out on qualification for the semi-finals.

Victorian Premier Steve Bracks said the incident had not hurt the re****tion of the event.

"Well, a big international event will always have some event occurring if you've got nations from around the world, every country represented," he said.

"In this case, the police have said they'll investigate what occurred and decide whether or not charges will be laid."
