I admitted that I put my foot in my mouth and I was ashamed but what is done is done and I'm not going to dwell on it. I apologized to her, not just once I might add, and she never acknowledged my apology. Oh well. I actually feel a little better knowing that smaller things* can get to her (or not, so you say) so what the hell was I to expect from my "metida de pata". In all fairness though, she sort of, kind of, in a way (although not really) continued talking to me so... let's just move on.

Holy testicle tuesday! Wow! I miss a day of catching up on Foro and this happens??? What'd you guys do to MJ? Or I should say we, 'cause Pibe mentioned my name too. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do... But just from reading this thread, I must admit that I'm a little disappointed on Pinky Brewster. I thought she was a little more thick-skinned than that. Imagine if Dogo, Confu, McCo, MiMi and all the people we reaaaaaallly pick on got mad and left foro... there'd be no members left!!! I think we all should learn to draw the line on where fun ends and seriousness begins. I don't know about all of you guys, but I never, ever, ever take foro seriously. You post your questions knowing that 100% of the answers will be wisecracks and no information whatsoever will be helpful. But you get a chuckle out of the whole thing. I though that we oldies knew this. Foro's not a reflection of the real world. It's just somewhere we come to for a laugh, to kill time, to have some fun. I think, after meeting most members of foro in the real world, we're all on the same page about this. I saw people just chewing each other to pieces here, and then outside, they'd be laughing it off, talking normally, etc. I think the number one rule of Foro should be that, to not let it get to you. But I guess I and all of us thought that Pinky was just like the rest of us and she wasn't. Things really get to her. That's not the first time that a thread or a topic got to her. I knew she was oversensitive, but I guess I never knew to what degree.
It's too bad she deleted her account. I really like MJ. I think she's an incredibly smart chick and her posts were very funny and insightful. I hope she comes back. And for the record, I blame her being born on June 22 for this.

It's sad day on Foro.

I dunno but the only reason I can think that made MJ leave was because MAYBE she has not been long enough to know e-community aka Foro works, I have been her for 3-4 years and I've seen people getting roasted like crazy, confu ass all over the foro, chismes, people photochoped, on one case I received several threaths of death, etc and at this point we know everything is in good fun, all we know that at the end of the day we are able to know the difference between a joke or something serious.

Anyways she is able to realize that here is a place were you have fun...

She wasn't humble enough to accept apologies? I stated earlier on that for MJ there is NO NEED for an apology. She knows that McO didn't mean anything to hurt her, she just wanted to know, what was so funny? That's it. Why does everyone think she took it to a whole different level? Because she left? Who cares? If I recall correctly, when you jumped on her, wasn't she quick to apologize to you for insulting your friends? MJ knows when to apologize and when not to apologize. She is quick to realize her faults. In this case, she didn't feel the need to apologize to anyone and she certainly doesn't feel the need for anyone to apologize to her. She keeps reiterating the fact all she did was ask a SIMPLE question, that question being, "What's so funny?" That's it!! What's the big deal? I can't believe this thread is still going. That last sentence you put Ladybug, you know how important that has been to her? She has said that if we ever have children that myself, my mother, and HER mother are only to speak to them in Spanish to prevent the ridicule that she has gone through and she has said that if that doesn't work then she will send them to Spanish school.

I think people should just drop this whole topic entirely, let her be, and stop pretending to sympathize.

As far as "What was the point" issue...........I think it comes down to a couple of things
First you have to take into account what the intentions of the person who posted whatever it is they posted, were. And if you still don’t like it, I think, the thing to do is call your "friend" aside (PM) and say, "Hey man, I didn’t really appreciate what you posted,I’m kinda touchy about that, you know. Can you please take it down? Cool, now give me a hug"
Second, this is a forum that is 90% jokes and filled with sarcasm. You mean that Mc's comment was SO TERRIBLE in the context of this forum?!
MJ is one of many that participated in the jokes and cutting each other down, jokingly. And we all had some good ol' fun with it

I for one, honestly HONESTLY had no idea of her "soft spot". I might’ve read it and just brushed it off, or maybe I didn’t even read it, or maybe I did and forgot. Regardless, the fact that we all HAD to know that that was a soft spot for her, is not an excuse to get mad. If there's anyone expecting an apologiy, it's definitely NOT MJ. She asked ONE question about why people laugh at so and so and if you read that thread, you'll see how it became a grammar issue with TV Buffy, Lahtina, and Pajaro jumping all over it.

Don't tell me otherwise. And I could've sworn 2 of the 3 were her friends. Maybe not close friends but I believe they liked each other. And X with his "Vaya con dios" It's funny how I thought some of you were friends and yet you're all like, "LATER! Don't let the door hit you on the way out." @God: Funny how you would say that because she always said you were a great guy when she met you. No wonder why she didn't stick around. Like she said, "It was like being a lamb among wolves."

This issue has ALWAYS been a sensitive and important issue with her. You said it, its been brought up in past threads before. I asked her last night what got her upset and she asked one question, "What was the point of McO asking me to translate the poem in Spanish

when he knew I couldn't?" And in all honesty, what was the point? Sure it wasn't done with malicious intent but what was the point? It got some laughs. You all know that MJ makes fun of herself and doesn't care when others do it too but not when it comes to her not speaking Spanish.

That last sentence you put Ladybug, you know how important that has been to her? She has said that if we ever have children that myself, my mother, and HER mother are only to speak to them in Spanish to prevent the ridicule that she has gone through and she has said that if that doesn't work then she will send them to Spanish school.

I think people should just drop this whole topic entirely, let her be, and stop pretending to sympathize.
