We went there last year just the weekend before the summer rush and it was beaaaautiful. A little cold, mind you, but it was just gorgeous. This year we're planning to spend a bit more time there. My best camping experience, so far.

Try Serpent MOunds Provincial Park ( Rice Lake), they have nice camping sites and also this little "eco-cabins", I think they have electricity and a barbie.  I think they don't come with toilets but people can use the park toilet cabin which has showers and washing-drying machines.  I don't know if they are open now though!

Y donde esta el KEN?   lol

we stayed in the Roe Campgrounds in the 430s, it was close to the comfort station, the water pipe thingy AND the kicker, it was close to a little private beach!  The only thing with that one is that you had to hike to Stubb Falls but it was completely worth it after the hike.

Mikisew Provincial Park - they have a private group lot just off the shore of Eagle lake.  It's really big and soooo pretty!

Arrowhead Provincial Park - they have these great falls that you can relax under. Stubb Falls!  It's great!

I want to try the cottage thing this year.  Any recommendations?  I want to see if I can get something for the May 24 weekend.

Ok guys,

I read in the Valentine's thread that TVBuff has booked her camping site.  I love camping.... and if it is a cottage even better.

Where have you gone camping? what are the best places to go?  this thread is for all the links and information you have.

yesi

Of the ones we've been to, Killbear Provincial Park. Algonquin is supposed to be very nice too, but I've never been. We also like the sites near Orillia (Mara and Balsam Lake). We used to go to private camping sites a lot before, but found them to be too small and crowded, so we're only doing provincial parks now. As for cottages, we stopped doing the cottage thing a couple of years ago, but we went to a few nice ones.
