In that case, 99.9999% of women should wear red for their weddings. I'd say, if Paris Hilton can marry in white, then I don't see why all women shouldn't.

And why is tje word s e x censored?

Good point. And why is the word "the" spelled "tje" hmmmmm

'Cause I'm converting to Hungarianism.

Dogo, did i directly ask you? NO!

Y como el muchacho no puede leer, dije que el craze del BIG white dress began with diana. I don't know when the white, or how the white got started.

Not in this case, at least no lo creo. Didn't the craze for the white (and huge) wedding dress begin right after Pricess Diana got married? Then everyone wanted a big fancy dress  like her's.

huh?... I think even mi abuelita, y la abuelita de mi abuelita got married in a white dress!

As far as the question goes, I think it's obvious that traditions are related to, and developed by, cultures...
Some copied/imitated by other cultures and some are not, but eventually many cultures share similar traditions

I think it's not so much tradition as it is a case of "Donde va Vicente va la gente". People like to imitate what other people do in their vicinity. I never saw this type of wedding craze back in Nicaragua, and then all Latinos do it this way now that we live in Canada. I don't know, I guess people just go with the flow. Those shows on the Life Network don't help either.

Are you kidding?! i love the show 'i do, let's eat!' When they aired the indian wedding all i wanted to do was eat all that food they had there!

Discuss.

It's tradition but I think white has become just the "custom" colour to wear now at weddings regardless of whether they're a virgin or not.  Plus who the hell is a virgin still anways??!!  Times are changing!!!  Hell, I'll wear bright a$$ white and well..........yeah.................

Actually, on Spadina, I saw these GORGEOUS wedding dresses and I saw this incredible RED one!!!  I absolutely loved it!!!  The sales rep told me that RED is custom in Chinese weddings!!

I SO want that dress  but I think my mother and El Pibe's mother will faint right then and there!!!

Yes, but they look nothing like a western wedding dress
I think she was just trying to get rid of a dress that she, likely, will never sell

Yes it did, you jerk!!!!

Well, the dress that I saw did!!!

I didn't say the one YOUUUUU saw looks nothing like a western wedding dress
I said THEYYYYY (chinese wedding dress) look nothing like a western one

I don't know. But i wore white, off white, same thing. She's not being a hypocrita if the woman wears white, in fact it's just a tactic we use to make our parents and in-laws THINK we've still to be 'deflowered'.

Boy, do I have a story for you on this topic... but it's too long, so I'll just make it a chapter in the book and you'll have to read it then.

Well technically, none of them can wear white, bc, you know, ehhh, only if you are still une Mademoiselle you can wear white @ your wedding.

That's another tradition I guess.
