I would much rather get a self made gift where she spent $ 20 dollars in materials but put some thought and effort into (that collage of old memoirs sounds good to me) – than a $200 gift that she run to the mall and picked up.

BUT THIS YEAR I WAS IN MEXICO SO I BROUGHT BACK LITTLE GIFTS! BUT FOR THE 23RD ONE I HAVE A NICE BIG GIFT!

The nicest of gifts are not necessarily the most expensive ones: CREATE one yourself – a collage of pictures or things / memoirs between you two… buy him his favourite DVD, stay indoors on those cold February days and just cook him a simple meal and spend time together… just try and be creative and you will find ways of entertaining him or giving him a gift he will appreciate, without spending a whole lot of cash!

That's nothing!! I have birthdays every month. My family keep reproducing every year!

Besides the kids i have my parents and my brother. Now taking family aside, i get invited to friends birthdays every freekin' weekend!!! Either for them or their kids.
What i've been doing is, if i see something on sale i buy it and save it for the next birthday! That way it makes it easier for me.
