Yesssss....thnk you so much.....so far I had no lock ups, my IE didnt freeze at all...I didnt have to reboot......but my comp is still slow.....isn't there anything I can do?....it's a new computer and the drive is nowhere near full......I actually have like 99% space left.....but for an IE page to load is pretty slow.....
if ur websites are taking long to load thats not a computer problem, maybe is just ur ISP or u can try a diff browser like Firefox just to see if it makes any difference.

I have to reboot at least 4 times daily because my comp slows down so quick....
My internet explorer pages also freeze and I cant view them or access copy and paste on them...
Last night my comp shut off on its own....rebooted on its own actually....it was scary lol.....
AND each time I reboot, the first thing I get on my screen is a pop up saying I have "hardware installing" or something like that...but I have nothing attached to the comp....in this case the hardware was a camera....
HELP!!!!!
I do not want to install everything alllll over again.....what are my options?
Thats not a virus..its a driver problem. U must of had a Webcam installed and for some reason drivers needs to be re-installed or you have a digital camera that requires those drivers
I 'm guessing u have Windows XP
Go to Start> Control panel > System > Go to the Hardware Tab > Click on Device Manager > Now tell me where you see the yellow exclamation mark ...it may be displayed as Other Devices....
Example: PCI Simple Communications Controler or USB Device with code 31
NOTE: This is not a virus..this is just Windows tryign to figure this device that is connected to your computer..either external or internal.
If your system is slow we can disable all your services!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! won't harm ur computer
Go to Start> Run and type msconfig . Now go to Startup Tab and uncheck all those checkmarks.
Yes U WILL NEED TO RESTART!!! heeh ..let me know what happens..and hopefully I was clear
okay, follow the wizar and find out what is it that is trying to install and let me know.
~X
I have to reboot again...that will be the 5th time in 12 hours....ouch!
But ok.....np....Im just scared because the Rogers tech told me it's a virus..... since I dont have anything attached to the comp...this pop up shows the pic of a digital camera.....

I'd do a full backup of ur important documents and re-install a fresh O/S and all the softwares!!
Sure you can ran spybots, adwares, antivirus..un-install programs that are corrupted or dont' need, make sure soem of your Registry is not corruped ..you would have to do many so that your computer is back to "Stable"
I tend to do a refresh 2 times a year.....and my 1999 computer is faster then 90% computers out there today..guaranteeed! :)
but bro u have to remember not every1 knows computer as much as u do.......backing up and reinstalling is a big thing for people that don't know much about computers.
reinstalling should be the last and final option....never reinstalled unless there is nothing else u can do for that person to fix the problem.

MCAFEE...and I run it at least once a week.....
but is it enable?
~X
I guess...yeah...I mean if I run it...it must be...no? How do I find out?
well u shouldn't have to run it.....it should be running on the background at all times.
if u look at ur systray (where the time is and the little icons usually in ur right bottom corner) and u see the mcafee icon, right click on it and it will give u the option to enable and disable.
don't worry about safe mode just run them for now and see if it helps the problem
yes they are free
links up there.
~x I downloaded and installed SPYBOT....I just finished running it.....and it found 14 problems....I clicked on fix selected problems and they got fixed....now what?.....IS THAT IT??
I got this problem listed: "antivirus disable notify"
