You know.........I don't want to sound like a b*tch but I'm going to anyway..........I thought she was a beautiful woman but I couldn't help but think, "That's a pretty ugly, trashy non age appropriate outfit." Maybe it's a performer thing.
Veronica and I go way back, so I'll tell you why she dresses the way she does. What she wears is not trashy at all, and I guess it would seem trashy to you since you dress like a nun...lol...hold on...hold on before you go flying off the handle. From what I have read you say you are a simple dresser, since all you wear is Lacoste clothing which to me is very plain clothing, but that's your taste not mine so it doesn't matter right...Anyway Veronica's biggest influence has always been Selena, and the first song that she ever performed was one of Selena's songs back in middle school. So it's only natural for her to take one of her biggest influence's style and mix it with her own style. If some people such as yourself do not like it...well all I can say is TOOO BAD!!! All that matters is that she likes what she wears and feels comfortable wearing it, and other people's opinions don't matter.

And, OMG, I can't wait till MJ reads Sweetness's response...
Is it just me or do people immediately do this ------> in anticipation of my responses??!!!
ANYWAYS, Sweetness is going to do what any friend would do and that's defend her friend, right??
I absolutely loved her comment about me dressing like a nun!!!!! Nothing could be further from the truth!!!! And yes, I'm a big Lacoste goof which is rather plain but that's my style when I feel like being casual.
LaDyBuG brought up a good point and that was that Veronica's style was that of Tex/Mex cumbia artists which TOTALLY made sense to me. I was narrow-minded in thinking, "Dear God, is that how she dresses?" and it didn't click to me, "Uh hello??!!! She's a performer!!! She doesn't dress like that on a regular basis!!" (or at least I'm hoping not) so that was me admitting my own stupidness.
However, I came to that conclusion with a logical response from LaDyBug and not the "mature" response of "TOO BAD" from Sweetness.

I think she styles herself after Tex Mex/Cumbia artists and most of them dress like that...the only thing she was missing is the hat.....I think even if the outfit wasn't so appealing to the eye, she didn't carry herself all trashy and that's what matters the most....
This is true.
But I'm wondering if that's what the average person things.
"You can dress like a skank but as long as your carry yourself well, then it's OK!!!!"
I don't think she was dressed like a skank at all! Besides, her whole aura is just so innocent and playful, kind of, I think, that she doesn't come off slutty at all. Maybe the same outfit in a different person would look trashy, but not in this girl, IMHO.
Oh, and it's what the average person THINKS, not things.
As the great colombian 20th philosopher MJ says... K, bye!
Ah.....she got me!!!! meh Off to edit!!! I'm just glad you caught it and not Dogo!!!
Well, I guess I'm the only one that thought tight ass pants with slits down the side weren't age appropriate.
According to the 20th Century philosopher DANNY, I am not Colombian. His logic? It's simple. I do not speak Spanish fluently. To hell with my parents and their parents and their parents and their parents since they were ALL BORN IN COLOMBIA..........I'm just not Colombian.
I'm only spreading the word of the wise!!!

Beautiful place! I want to renew my vows or change religion and get re-married, just to have a big party at that place. Really nice, and the location was just fabulous! All the artists were great. I'd never seen a few of them, like Veronica Meza, who's just gorgeous, and Visionero and Adriel, whom I've wanted to see perform since like forever. They look and sound great on stage. It's too bad Ricky couldn't do his second song (Cama Y Mesa, I was hoping). All in all, it was a great night, very well organized. The cool table was great company (LB, don't worry... we didn't mind about the sitting... most of us were getting up constantly anyway). I agree with everybody's comments wholeheartedly. And for us smokers, it wasn't even that cold, so it was perfect!

I have to say it was a lot better than I expected It was pretty well organized... I think people got more than their money's worth
I had a great time, EXCEPT for the fact that I DIDN't g et a CD. I had to eat at the corner table, by MYSELF ... .AAAAAND my first greeting of the night was: "Hey JERK!"
I agree with you.......very well organized.....I had a good time, I love seeing so many artists on one stage......and YES people definately got more than their money's worth.....
I apologize for the seating arrangements (to Buffy and hubby as well)....it was my fault....
I do have a CD for you....do you want a magazine?
I liked the first song GARDENIAS sang......you guys have improved so much....that was great!!!
I think that besides my biased opinion of Visonero y Adriel being really good, Ricky Franco and Bainaman's wicked performances (as usual).....in my opinion, the other artist who stole the show was CARLOS CRUZ......when an artist gives you goosebumps in his presentation, something is definately RIGHT!
@ Buffy....were you there for the $1 empanadas? yummm......and the coffee cart that Dogo attacked? LOL
Did anyone have those Banana chips? Those were good too.....
I was so impressed to see people donating $$ all through out the night and even percentages of the food and items being sold went to the cause......
I'm gonna find out how much $$ was raised so far and keep you guys posted.....
Thank you to everyone who showed up......
The event should have been called "todo el mundo y su abuela are here".....LOL
Yes please!!! (to the CD offer) NP about the seating
I agree with the Carlos Cruz comment, although I'm not into what he sings, I can recognize his powerful voice! you look at him on stage and he looks like he's just talking without any effort, but then this BLASTING voice comes out, wow I really liked Visionero and Adriel as well (and YOU know that would be very unusual for me, lol) Great stage presence.. classy guys Ricky blows you away, everytime (too bad just one song) I loved Baina's acustic thing ( I must admit I was sceptical, but it sounded great!) And I really like Gardenias song (dammit I forget the name).., the one they play with el charango That it for now...... I'll add more as I remember

Anyway, did anybody stay till the end? Did anybody else perform after you guys? Did they say how much money was raised that night?
Yes, we do know him.
I didn't stay until the end. I just saw another act after us that was just more of the same. I can't remember his name, but he looked like Paul Caniggia after a car crash.
@ Samy, if I am not wrong, the Miss Latin is from Brazil right ? So es she might not speak Spanish but she is still latin, just not hispanic, that would explain why she doesn't speak it but was still able to enter the pageant.
Plus, I don't know if you were there the night of the ceremony but let me tell you that the Spanish of many of the "hispanic latinas" que estaban concursando esta noche era patetico, casi ninguna contestaba las preguntas en español y peor todavia, les daban la opcion de hacerles las preguntas o en español o en ingles. Te prometo que eso me hizo parar los pelos de punta, pero bueno, que se yo verdad ?
You took the words right out of my mouth, mi pequeña saltamontes. Even though the girl said she was from Brazil, people just seemed to not listen, or not want to listen, and they were screaming out "En Español!". It was sad, really. But she's very pretty and she handled herself well. We're soooooo not a very open-minded and accepting community.
Are you serious?? People were actually saying that???
How DISGUSTING and IGNORANT!!!
I feel for the girl.
That reminds me of that one idiot who yelled out "NO!" when asked whether we wanted to hear AB perform!!
I'm so embarassed by these people!!!

WHY??? THE GUY WAS JUST EXPRESSING HIS MIND.....HE DIDNT WANNA HEAR HIM SING THAT ALL, MAYBE HE DOESNT LIKE AB MUSIC???
IT WASN'T NICE!!!!

Man that was so wrong, poor girl I am glad she did handle herself....

Are you serious?? People were actually saying that???
How DISGUSTING and IGNORANT!!!
I feel for the girl.
That reminds me of that one idiot who yelled out "NO!" when asked whether we wanted to hear AB perform!!
I'm so embarassed by these people!!!
