It happen to me once with Scotiabank - they were accusing me of FRAUD!!!!!!! it was a year investigation until i got my MONEY back!

So this is the story:

One day i went to the Dry Cleaner and used my debit card ...picked up my stuff and went back home ..this was around 12PM. I had to work @ IBM @ 5PM.

On my way to Shoppers Drug Mart to get tickets, I found out that i didn't have my debit card...i was too rushed to go back to the store or else I would of been late...on the way...it was soooo much traffic... REMIND YOU: This is when the blackout occured in GTA!!!!!!

When I got to the IBM building of course the elevator wasn't working so i walked up 12 floors!! I started at 5, but then again our phones weren't working .....so little by little we all went home...i didn't even stay till like 7PM .

By that time I couldn't go back to the Dry Cleaner b/c it was CLOSED! So I was hoping the next day they would be open..but they weren't! the next day It was opened and asked the cashier if they had my Debit Card...well it appeared that they DIDN"T! I think it was like 2 days without phone service or something..correct me if i'm wrong but it took me 3 days to report..i remember it was a SUNDAY when i reported..this happened on a THursday!

So now i'm goign back home worried and called to cancel it but it was already CANCELLED and asked me to go to my bank location.

The bank asked me if money was deposited or withdrawn! well that day i was getting paid by IBM but other than that i did not take any money out..

To make this story short: Someone at Pape & Danforth deposited $200 in an empty envelop and took out 300$...and...i do live very very close by.

Questions from the bank were: how would they know your pin # did you give ur pin# etcc..

They told me it was being investigated ..so i reported to the police about this..after a year and a half they finally gave back my MONEY!

Now I am with TD Bank!!!!!! I still have Scotiabank open but dont' use it and plan to close it soon when i get the time.

You just have to be carefull on hiding your pin number when you enter it and where yuou use it..

FK!!!! SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED 2 ME ABOUT A YR AGO AND I STILL DON'T HAV AND ANSWER FROM DA BANK ON WHEN I'M GETTING MY MONEY BK. IN MY CASE, I DIDN'T LOSE MY CARD THEY TRANSFERED MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT TO A DIFFERENT ONE BY THE EMAIL TRANSFER PROCESS. ANYWAYS, IS A QUITE LARGE AMOUNT AND THEY SEEM NOT TO CARE.

Hey, it's not just credit card, it's also debit card.  My SIL and her hubby are chronic Winners and HomeSense buyers and they had their debit card copied.  Someone took $500!!!! They're freaking out, the bank's fraud department is dealing with it but they also called the 1-866 number that these guys provided and are reporting their information as well.

Honestly, the best thing to do nowadays is just to have cash on hand.  It's nuts!

Holy crap?!  Really?  Debit cards???!!!  What do I do now???
