Zagat guide for restaurants? Where do I get that? For restaurants I usually follow "The Hubby Guide". He says that if a place looks empty, it's probably crappy. If a place looks packed, it's probably good. So far his theory hasn't failed. I prove that theory every day with Little India. There are four Indian restaurants next to one another. The other three are ALWAYS empty. Little India ALWAYS has line ups, no matter what the weather's like outside. And they all have the same prices.

WAT IF, those ppl are lining up to see what the commotion is all about or just see a line up and line up themselves and not ever giving the other 3 restaurants a chance.

A bunch of followers, I tell ya!    Although, I do apply that same theory to Sushi Restaurants.  I NEVER eat sushi at a restaurant that isn't packed with people.  Sushi is one thing you don't want to have been sitting for a couple of hours

I'll look it up then. I don't know much about Colombian food. What's a good restaurant to have any here in Toronto. What would you recommend?

I say you should try "Mi Tierra" on St. Clair It's sooo good.

New York is awesome, you'll also find TONS of Ecuadorian Restaurants in Queens.

I say you do all the tourist thingy's, it's very nice: The Statue of Liberty, Rockerfellar, SOHO, Must go to Schwartz, Chinatown (it's insane in there), Little Italy, Ground Zero, Must ride the water Taxi (so much Fun), visit American Girl (kinda expensive but so worth it), visit the The Cathedral Church of St. John (it's the chruch that Thalia got married in with Tony Montola) (they sell very nice rosarios, croses, etc. Not expensive at all), Central Park (that's like 1 day or so, the zoo inside), Bronx Zoo is nice as well, Oh god there is tons to see & do, that a whole month is like not enough time.

Also NY is great for Domenican food, best I ever tried so far.

Must try Jumba Juice, it's an american chain like Booster Juice, just that better.

Anyhow there are a few of my suggestions & likes.

Have Fun when u go.

Any place in Queens is good, as for Toronto.......I used to LOVE Sabor Latino but they've changed .  You should ask Colombiana!  Odds are she'll know the owners, their parents, their sisters, their pets, etc.

@JC:  If you're gonna rent a car, don't go for Enterprise.  I wasn't allowed to take their car to NY for insurance purposes.    Maybe those rules have changed as well.  It's been awhile.

Normally what I do is fly from Buffalo to NYC cause it's dirt cheap!

@ JC: we thought about driving too, but we only have a couple of days and we wanted to make the most of it. Driving would've taken most of our time, so we decided to fly. If' we'd driven, we would've definitely rented a car.

-- Edited by TV Buff at 10:16, 2007-01-08

See flying was an option at first, but New York is an expensive city, so we decided to drive as it would be the cheaper option and we could use what we would have spent on airfare for spending money. Plus New York flights aren't cheap anymore and go for $300 +
We don't have too many days in New York either. We're driving overnight on the Wednesday which is the day before the concert and drving overnight back home on Saturday night.

Also if you are paying for accomadation try to get it in Queens. It's alot cheaper and going for around $79US a night.

Isn't Queens dangerous? We booked a nice little hotel that my co-workers recommended. It's near Greenwich and it wasn't too expensive. Plus they said that it's close to everything. I don't even know where Queens is. I should look at a map. How are you getting there? Oh, and that's what we're going for too, the Maná concert.

Queens ain't so bad and it's about a half hour away from Manhattan where MSG is. We're driving to New York. The only debate right now wheather we will drive our own car there or take a rental
