When you are in a Long-term relationship/married hats are odd. In my opinion is easier for us to get a solution. For women is harder, pills, and when it comes to tie her tubes I think is faster, easier and less painful to get the snip.
bro there is no way i'm ever doing that.. i can't see myself doing it it not even in my mind

No, Luna Lunática, not TV Buff. And no, I'm not going to tell you either.
@ Pogo: I just thought Kitty looked young. Maybe because she seems so playful and she's so tiny. That's why I said good for her. Not everyone's so lucky.
In the end, there is always the option of adopting a child. Which to me, is the most noble thing to do. Give love to a child who has none.
Oh, absolutely! That's always been an option that I've considered..
Always wanted to adopt a 20some year old Swedish orphan girl
Hubby has always wanted the same thing... you both can go orphan-shopping together...
Kitty has tween kids? Really? I thought she was barely a teenager. Good for her!
I really don't know both your situations, but for ourselves, we've thought about it but it's just the "being so final" aspect of chopping-chopping. I don't know. It's a toughie. In my case I always wanted to have a daughter (I've had her name picked out since I was 14) and it just didn't happen for me-- and probably never will. But I don't want to say never. I do think, however, that it is harder for women to decide not to have anymore kids. We're such loving, giving creatures, don't you guys agree?
As for adopting, I think that takes a bigger heart than to just decide to have another child, and I know I don't have that kind of heart right now. Not being selfish, just honest.
She has A tween kid (as in UNO!) AND what do you mean you thought she was barely a teenager? Kitty is nearly 30 How would I date "barely a teenager" (ok, I feel a thread coming) I ALSO had a name for my "daughter" (which I would've used if my son would've been a girl) since I didn't have one.. I used it on my dog
As for adopting, I wouldn't even flinch at the thought. I would very open to that posibility, if I changed my mind.. if anything, at this age, that would probably be more likely an option for me, than not

but it would hurt me to know that one day that adopted child may say "you're not my real mother". I don't know, that's just me.
Or marry her adoptive daddy, like that ungrateful Mia Farrow adopted daughter who married Woody Allen... Not that that's any prize, but it's sad and sick. More sick than sad, but
As for the name, no way, Jose i'll tell you. Didn't you watch that Seinfeld episode? It's not that original a name. It just has tons of significance for me. And it's a purty, purty name. :lesigh:

hey StoneColdHeart (aka Buffy) ... if I may ask, what's the name? I'm very much for original names... don't worry, I don't plan on having any more kids so fear not, my young coldheart, I will not steal thou name).
As for adopting, I agree with Buffy, it does take an even bigger heart to bring in a child that is not biologically yours. I fear the rejection of that child more than anything. Atleast with my kids, I'll guilt them into loving me 'cause you know, I gave them life. but it would hurt me to know that one day that adopted child may say "you're not my real mother". I don't know, that's just me.

interesting topic and i commend you for being so honest about it. I say discuss it with your doctor, get all the information you can possibly get on the procedure and if you feel that you still want to do it, then go for it! At least you'll know you've made an educated decision.
Now, as for telling your new partner. I do NOT think you should wait until things start getting "serious" but I also don't think that should be your pick up line. You have to really find the right time but not at a point where she is so invested in you and it completely devastates her.
Dogo, I don't know you personally but aren't you in a current relationship? If I may ask, how does your partner feel about this?
Although it’s a bit easier for me, than it is for my partner (and yes, my partner is a WOMAN) to make such a decision, for being a bit older, we’re pretty much at similar stages of our lives (career/job takes a lot of our time, we are not as young as we wished, we both have tween aged children, etc)
I had brought up the "not having children" issue early on. And brought up the vasectomy issue recently My partner was a bit "on the fence" about having or not, more children... but after discussing my reasons, she respects and supports my decision

His partner is ok with it....plus males can't get pregnant

I totally agree with Miel! Most men wouldn't think about it since they do expect the woman to be the ones to go throught it all ... And banking is also great in the event you contemplate that you do want another one later on ...
** Curiosity question: If you did have a vasectomy done ... do you think one should inform their partner before a relationship starts or at the beginning of the relationship or later on in the relationship??
Nahh don't tell them.....let's see if the come to ya telling ya "I'm pregnant"
I've never done any research on vasectomy's. Do this mean that you will be able to cum but shoot blanks, or does this mean you don't cum at all? I wouldn't mind turning in my badge as long as I get to keep my ammunition
Hell no, dude!!
I don’t think I would do it if I couldn’t “shoot” I don’t want to KILL Doguito! I just want to make him less “lethal”
Please refrain from giving overly detailed descriptions, as they make me visualize unpleasant things.

I’d say as soon as the relationship gets serious If there’s hope that the relationship will go anywhere, the topic will come up and you should tell your partner at that time OR… if you need a good excuse to have lots and lots of sex, then don’t say anything

I think it would have to be in the beginning. Just incase the woman you are with is serious about things and plans to have a family down the road.
