:blah: ... I think it's good that you're at least trying to change your eating habits, GiGi, 'cause that stuff catches on to you, especially the older you get. ... :blah:
Mmm... cheese croissants... yum.
Yeah, I just LOVE those Timmyès cheese croissants too... yummmmm :licktongue:
That’s precisely why I want to start at least thinking about eating healthier and being a little bit conscious about what I put into my system. Better start disciplining oneself on the eating habits before one gets totally out of shape and/or grows too much cholesterol or other non-desirable illness.
I went to Eaton’s for lunch and they just happened to have a Jimmy The Greek in there… I HAD to get that lamb shank dinner with rice, salad and potatoes… Funk the health consciousness for now… LOL

I'm not a health nut per se, but I eat healthy, I think. I eat a lot of homemade meals. But my weakness is sweets (pastries and cheesecake to be exact). I can't resist them. I don't exercise much and I should. I just went next door (another building) right now, to the second floor, and I almost didn't make it back, I was so tired. I do go for walks at lunch, but that's about all the exercise I get (and I sit ALL DAY). I think it's good that you're at least trying to change your eating habits, GiGi, 'cause that stuff catches on to you, especially the older you get. As for your co-workers, when they make those comments to you it's because they're secretly drooling-- they wish it was them eating what you're eating!
I LOOOVE the daWeed and Danny options... good times.
Although, I am not a health nut like some people, I am very consious of what I eat and what I put into my system. When I say this, I don't mean I'm counting calories at every turn 'cause that's just torture and that doesn't mean I don't eat sweets and stuff ('cause they're my weakness) but I do make sure I have a balanced diet, eating from the 4 food groups, etc. and I try to exercise as much as I can (not as much as I would like to but I still do what I can).
I'm really against ppl making you feel like **** for not eating how they eat. So what if you're eating a cheese croissant ENJOY! Screw the calories! I say be sure you're eating balanced foods, ie fruits and veggies, your protein and carbs! you need carbs! and your dairy... daily multivitamins help too!
I eat ok, very rarely do i indulge in fried food or baked goods. But there is the occasion that i eat it without thinking twice about it. Those people are obsessed, and that makes me sick! SICK! i tells ya!
I don't exercise, but i do take the stairs instead of the escalator, or go for a walk at lunch but what ever Gime the steak with potatoes and a side order of onion rings! oh and a nice tall glass of gingerale please! Pfft! diets, what the heck does that mean??!!
They are not quite obsessed – my coworkers – I may have exaggerated just a little bit!
I am NOT a follower! (your idea of a walk at lunch sounds great, I shall try that! )

There are several people around my office – mostly women – who are very conscious about what they eat. They try and make sure they eat smaller meals – (5/6 smaller meals), so many times a day and include all the food groups throughout the day. They keep an eye on the amount of calories and try to exercise to keep in shape. This has been going on for a good while – some of them on and off – while I have been eating what they would “junk” the whole time.
When I am having my regular cheese croissant with tea in the morning – I’ve heard comments like “You may as well shove a pile of butter down your throat. I am having a pop/juice and I get asked “Do you know how many calories there are in that?”. I regularly eat rice or pasta and apparently that’s “way more carbs than I need”.
I have never been health conscious or cared about what I ingested. Whatever I wanted at anytime I wanted was the way to go. But today, I must have woken up at another side of the bed ‘cause for breakfast I decided to have something more healthy: I had a (large) portion of fruit and Cranberry juice. And even when I came up with the cranberry juice and I was told (and then read) how many calories it had, I watered it down by mixing it with water! These freaking coworkers’ healthy habits must be rubbing off on me!
DO YOU TRY AND HAVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE? ARE YOU CONSCIOUS ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT? EXERCISE REGULARLY? WHAT THINGS DO YOU TRY TO AVOID IN YOUR DIET?
