NOT REALLY!! considering that its a MISS Universe and once u get married divorced or whatever ur still a MRS especially if u changed your last name!
Yeah, but that's just a technicality 'Cause technically you can also be living 'common-law with someone, have a kid (ten kids for that matter) and still be a "miss" I just think that if you're pretty enough, you should be allowed to enter, period After all that's really what the contest is about

I thought this was interesting....especially the part about they cannot be married, have kids, divorced, lived with someone....etc...etc (I understand the being single during their reign though....that's important)
Read and Discuss....what do you guys think?
I'm all for the cosmetic surgery thing (look at ALL the Miss Venezuelas LOL)....but it's even more stunning when a "natural beauty" wins.....it deserves more respect I think....
Can delegates be married? A: No. Delegates may not be married or pregnant. They must not have ever been married, not had a marriage annulled, lived common-law, nor given birth to a child. The titleholders are also required to remain single throughout their reign.
Are delegates allowed to have cosmetic surgery? A: Although contestants are discouraged from altering their own natural beauty, no restrictions are placed on cosmetic surgery; it is impossible to enforce such a rule. In fact, since 1990 the organization has allowed the use of padding in an effort to discourage participants from permanently altering their bodies for the competition.
THAT's pretty discrminatory I don't understand how "beauty" has anything to do with those prerequisites If anything, cosmetic surgery is what should NOT be allowed.... that's like "cheating" no?

they have the MRS AMERICA AND MRS WORLD Pagents which are less publicized and less glamours since most are moms and married women meaning there off limits to guys! and its kinda to avoid anyone suing them
I din't know that,. but I also don't see the point of Miss Universe,. I think is as any other "concurso",..to see who is better,. pure competion,..
and I can see the point of no wanting the pegeants to be married or have kids,...because that would be interfer in their role as Miss Universe,.and all the things they have to do,. but why do they "banned" girls who have been married??

I don't see the point of pagents. It's a waste of time and television programming...i'd rather they put an extra episode of prison break! I AGREE ABOUT THE PRISON BREAK THINGY.....LOL
If they need to pick a woman so that then she can go do 'good deeds' around the world after they win, then what are nuns for? they're as natural as you can get them! no make up, no vanity, and no man...HAHA...SO TRUE....BUT WHAT SOME OF THESE GIRLS ACCOMPLISH PRIOR TO THE GRAND FINALE AS FAR AS EDUCATION, SERVICES AND EXPERIENCE IS TO BE RESPECTED.....NOT MANY "NON-PAGEANT" FEMALES HAVE ACHIEVED THOSE THINGS...OR BECOME THE BEST AT THEM.....
What they do after they win may be beneficial, before that, to me it's a waste of time. AFTER THEY WIN THEY BECOME A "MARKETING STRATEGY" OR A "WALKING BILLBOARD"....BUT EVEN SO, THEIR BEAUTY OPENS A LOT OF DOORS FOR THEM IN WHATEVER CAREER THEY CHOOSE.....
PLUS...plastic surgery in order to enhance your appearance should not be allowed. I'M 50/50 ON THIS FOR PAGEANTS...BECAUSE WHAT IF YOU HAVE A GORGEOUS, SMART GIRL, AMAZING BODY, PERFECT SPOKESPERSON, NATURAL BEAUTY ...ETC..ETC....BUT THE CHIC HAS NOOOO BOOBS!! ....WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS THE VENZUELAN PAGEANTS WHERE ALL THE BOOBS LOOK THE SAME, ALL THE NOSES POINT UPWARDS.....NO ORIGINALITY IS LEFT....IT'S LIKE COOKIE CUTTING....
Punto, coma, exclamation mark!SEMICOLON, WILLIE COLON AND MEN'S COLONGE
