I'M AN OFFICIAL LOSER MOM!!!!! So I remember years ago when the PSP came out and XBox360 and whatever else, I would make fun of ppl that would line up late into the night and into the morning for a stupid video game. WELL... guess where Luna was @ 6:30AM on Saturday morning?! BAAAAAHHHH!!!! I was lined up outside of Toys'R'Us to TRY and get my hands on one of the twenty Wiis the store was selling that morning.
Well... I didn't get it 'cause there was like 50 ppl infront of me. I stayed in the line 'cause ALOT of ppl were there for TMX Tickle Me Elmo Extreme YA... I didn't get it either and some doll called BABY ALIVE. <-- she's creepy... that's all I'm going to say.
Anyhooo... just wondering if there is anyone else has stood in line early in the morning for their kids or themselves or whatever?
I heard that they're recalling a whole bunch of those godforsaken thingies 'cause in the heat of the moment people are throwing the controls at the TV and having all sorts of accidents.
it still looks cool, though. We're just not getting one anytime soon. We'll wait until they come to the nearest Pacific Mall.
5:30!!!! u're CRAZY WOMAN! now imagine what you'll do when your little guy starts demanding Playstation 4 (or whatever version is out when he's older)!!!!
A word to the wise, you can get some wicked "online only" deals at futureshop.ca on Boxing Day. But if you do line up, they have those awesome door crasher deals that you can't pass up either.

Hahahaha LOSER!!!!
Ok, who am i kidding, i'd do the same thing! Altough i haven't line up that early in the morning to get him a toy (yet), but i've done other crazy motherly things!! So, ya i truely understand you.
Every year for boxing day, i line up at 5:30am outside Future shop with my dad. We get there early to get the good deals on electronic stuff. This year we plan to go to Best Buy.
5:30!!!!
i have to get some stuff on boxing day, didn't know people got up that early I guess I'll be there at the same time
I've been calling around lately too. I know the next shipment for Best Buy is ******. (I would share but then you'd be my competition... I hope you understand ). Well, I'm NOT going to kill myself to find this thing. If we get it, GREAT and if we don't then we'll just give the kids a picture of it and say HAVE FUN!

To Jaime's point, I remember looking for an iPod shuffle just about EVERYWHERE and no one had it. Then I tried the Future Shop by my house and they had a bunch.
Sometimes the obvious isn't so obvious to people.
And to answer your question, I've only done a crazy line up for concert tickets and even then, it wasn't so early.

That sucks. Try Futureshop. Give them a call during the week and they will tell you when the next shipment is due, and how many they will recieve. From experience the Furureshop at 401 and Weston rd does not get crazy long line ups.

This weekend I picked up a football wager... I picked OVER in the under/over line for the San Jose vs. Hawaii NCAA football game, thanks to a tip from a couple of friends, put in a $100 dollar bet, and almost doubled up my money when I collected $ 191.25. Apparently these goofs had the line off by 20 points and was a mistake – too bad this site had the bets capped off at $100.00. Almost made enough to buy my own Wii!

@ Buffy, I know those things are here to stay and i have nothing against it when it is used wisely. I know it is part of a child/teen even adult life. What I wanted to say is that unfortunately sometimes, not to say many (I can already see the bashing coming) kids are given to much time to spend with this thing like few hours a day. I mean back from school, homework, bath, dinner, play-fun time/quality time with family* (including what even the name is) etc..... but now it looks more like back from school, homework (if lucky), bath, dinner, nintendo/paystation/pssssswhatever
Ohhh....parents work ? Well nothing new here right ! I am sure you know what I mean.
*no specific order

Actually I was upset last night because a Dad that was interviewed said "It's good, with that new system, kids also can do some excercise" (something like that, do remember the exact line).
Really give me a f@cking break !!!!!! Take your kid and go out and play like good old times and theach them some valuable things instead of choosing the (temporary) "easy" way out form parenting !!!!!!!
Gotta disagree with you on that one, Frenchie. You can actually get to spend some quality time with your little ones if you get to play some good, fun family games. I kid you not, it's fun, and you speak to the kids in a language they understand. Like it or not, these god-forsaken gadgets are here to stay, all the kids at school have it and if your kid doesn't, he'll be an outcast. You have to go with the flow, move with the times, and como dice el sabio, si no puedes contra ellos, úneteles. Or something. Point is, this is something you can do together and your kid won't be a total antisocial loser for playing these games. I guess it's all about balance. They do their homework, they get to do some exercise, but this is also something that can be included in their daily routine. In most cases, realy and truly, these nintendos and PS2s and whatever can be a blessing in disguise.

Are you guys really sold on this Wii thing? I mean how much fun can it be if you actually have to WAVE your controler in order to play? I think it might actually be quite annoying, eventually
i can see u don't play much
don't know if u ever seen a kid or a girl specially play but the first thing they do is move the controller like is going to do something .......well the Wii has taken that into consideration and implemented it to their system.....and is also a step closer to interactive games.
The Wii is more for family and kids, as u get older is not about the gfx, having to learnd all this buttons to start playing, or having to go thru a story line that most of the time just sucks.......Wii is simple yet fun, just like the old times.
I wont be getting the Wii any time soon, I'm gonna give it a few months and maybe get it for my bday (JUNE).
I guess I compare it my experience with the "EYE Toy" for PS (granted, not the same thing but similar play, I guess) My son has it, we played a couple of times and after a while we're like "yeah put another game on, too much work"
