Althou I also love to see deatils from certain ppl. like: my parents, brothers, their spouses, niece, & fore most my b/f X@vier.
I think he's deatiled with me, he once got me a really nice bracelet that matches a set of jewerely I have, then he customizes all his cards with things that i love like arthur, etc. Even his bows, wrapping pappers, it's alll done with deatil & thought. I LOVE this kinda stuff & customization, it shows his paying good attn. to me & wat I like.
I would like to received/give something like that ,. It would make mehim/her feel that the person really thought about it when she/he/me bought it,. but at the same time I think even if it s not customized most of the time as long as you think about what the person would like,. it s fine,. La intencịn es lo que cuenta,..

Customized gift is a really nice way of showing your friend/relative that you care for them. I have never given a customized gift, but i have bought gifts that have a meaning. For example, my friend graduated yesterday from College. She has been working in her field for a long time, but but she has been wanting to further her career for many years now. She finally went to school and did it. She is happy at where she is in her life now. So i bought her a PRECIOUS MOMENTS gift. It's a little girl with a wishing well. Basically, i wanted to say was....you wished about this day and you finally did it. All your wishes can come true if you put your mind to it!!
Mind you, i only do this for special friends and family!
I have been given special gifts and i love it when my friends/family do that for me. They just don't go a buy anything that they see first! They take their time to find the special gift!!

If love is the answer, could you rephrase the question?

Is this the case? Am I crazy in thinking this way? Do people rather receive either cash or just some mass-produced thingy than something customized to their needs? And if you're the kind who likes to give customized gifts, what do you give? How do you make them or get them made?
I'm the same, depends on the ocassion how close is that person to me:
coworkers or peers: Dollarama (gift+card)
Friends: Something I know that they really like, a Card from Hallmark(no more than 2.99) and personal note.
Closer Friends: something they wouldn't expect to receive but that resemble them and I would design the Card in Front Page.
G/f: Make the gift and the card (The gift would be the time I spend doing them)

Depends on the person you're giving the gifts to. Kids: LOOOVE mass-produced, my bestfriend's uncle's son has it, type stuff. Adults: depends, I have an aunt that NEVER likes anything you give her. Whether its personalized with her name on it or something that took you 10 minutes to find.
The only time I'll personalize something (with engravings and such) would be on extremely important occasions (ie, weddings (I made my bro and his wife a scrapbook for their wedding)) or maybe graduations but even then I would think twice about it.
Keep in mind, MOST ppl get the picture frame with the "special" date engraved. You can only have sooo many of those and truthfully, at the end of the day, I think ppl would just prefer to get money.
