I won't criticize any of the existing clubs, cause they are businesses and they provide whatever their crowd like, I personally would like to find a Latin club/ bar where all the "I'm Latino and I don't like chucu-chucu" people would fit. with a blend of other rhytms like spanish Rock, ska, reggae, son cubano, Electronic, Alternative, folk, jazz, metal, techno-boleros and all their subgenres, without limiting to the the same old good stuff , but also bringing new artists and new tendencies. It would be a lot of work since the owners must be people really creative and innovative to keep the business running and people comming.
If anyone interested to developed that project, let me know I'll put my OSAP money down for that

it had a south american atmosphere...mainly leaning towards argentina uruguay and chile ..type of crowd..and the music alot of times reminded me of back home..it was something different for a change
wasn't it marcelo who DJed there? i hadn't actually met him yet at the time...
Where is Marcelo playing nowadays? Is he only doing the radio thing? I loved the music he played at the Rock your Spanish thingy last April. The only other place that played that kind of music, that I remember, was some club at Yonge and Davisville that closed a few years ago. I think Sur and Mana played that too, didn't they? How about Momentos?
how bout we get rid of the traditional latin music that seems to never leave space for other forms of latin music .....
sorry yall...but the whole salsa merengue tip is way to played out here
That would be nice....unfortunately, that's the music that sells here in Toronto, and it not only sells to the Hispanic demographic group, but also to the North American one.

I agree I would LOVE to hear some Enanitos Verde, Hombers G, Luis Fonsi, Paulina Rubio, Groups like back in Ecaudor: Timbiriche, Garibaldi, etc. Like those groups that have lovely music.

Played out?!?!? In a latin club.?? Isnt SALSA /MERENGUE part of it all?!?!?
What kind of music would you prefer just REGGAETON??
surlounge used to be a good place ..a lil different then the usual
it would be nice to see more venues like that
Yeah but they also played salsa and merengue..."GET RID OF traditional music"...thats just crazy....perhaps add variations of music would be better said..but not get rid of...SALSA MERENGUE and any other TRADITIONAL music which is part of our culture...so no getting rid of it would be dumb....
.alot of dudes think their bad **** with their gang sign posses and stuff. Even the girls thinkin their all that when the majority are over weight and dress like hoes...
I want a place with a diverse enviroment, where all sounds and rythms fuse with electronic beats.
a place where the word ghetto is replaced with the word alternative
a place where arts take centre stage and you can watch different forms of arts throught the whole venue (ie. slide shows on a corner projected to a screen)
a place where alcochol flows at an affordable price
a place where "Latinos" can merge with other races

i posted this under general wanted to see how it does here:
Is it me or does almost 95% of every latin club crab...By crap i mean ghetto with lets just say not very pleasing looking people. I mean if you look at the pictures here on Torontohipano of Privilege, Guvernment, El Magnate, Plaza Flamengo etc...alot of dudes think their bad **** with their gang sign posses and stuff. Even the girls thinkin their all that when the majority are over weight and dress like hoes...Now if you look at some of the english clubs now their you see some nice ladies and even if they were skanky clothes they pull if off...just i mean they look good...One thing i think alot of us latinos who have had the chance to go back to South America or Espana can agree the clubs and bars there are amazing compared to here. I mean style and just atmosphere. I know we can't really compare but at least the ghetto scene is not seen anywhere there. I'll admit the latin scene here was better before back in the day now its crap and getting worse.
