We come from a more laid back and flexible culture but, respect is always there. I guess that depends more on the kind of education you received.

5 things that make me proud of my Latin culture (not necessarily my Salvadorean background) are as follows:
1. Latin Americans are super resiliant. No matter what natural disasters, wars, famine, poverty, crime etc etc, we always manage to survive, literally.
2. Latin Americans on a whole are pretty lively and of great personalities, we ARE the life of the party.
3. Latin Americans have an amazing sense of family. You can go to any latin persons house and be treated as one of their own and welcomed at the family table.
4. Im proud of our music and dances. Latin music is the shizznit and everyone and they moma want to learn how to salsa.
5. I have to agree with Luna, Im proud of our elders, they have so much wisdom and grace.

1) amazing diversity 22 provincias...and its like going to a different country when visiting each one...different accents...different foods...different beaches..different cultural history behind each one
2) galapagos islands...known throughout history....where charles darwin studied the theories of evolution...amazing place to be ..we have one of the most unique flora y fauna in the world ..one of a kind looking iguanas you will ever see in your entire life!
3) QUITO QUITO!!!!lindo quito de mi vida!! :)..... Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad ..a city full of amazing history....beautiful arquitecutre....beautiful churches....further up north we have "la mitad del mundo" monument that represents a constructed mark of the equator's passage through the nation. Used by scientists to measure the meridian arc dividing the world into two hemispheres.
4) Ecuadorian girls!! those fine costenas from guayaquil :) con esas curvitas y ese accento to the fine thin serranitas in quito :) que vienen en todo tipo de color..
5) last but not least LA SELECCION ECUATORIANA DE FUTBUL having made such an improvement this year......
god i luv being a latino....and to make it more specific an Ecuadorian!!!!

I get what you mean. Of course no other culture can beat our NOVELAS . As for food, i am glad that we have many different dishes from different hispanic countries. For example I LOVE pupusas and i also LOVE peruvian food as well as Colombian Empanadas!! As for music, i am proud that we have a different style of music like merengue, salsa, bachata, reggaeton, sanjuanitos etc... I am also proud of knowing that we have many hispanic countries unlike for example the portugese, they only have one country and i guess maybe Brazil, altough they don't consider themselves connected to the portugese. I am just proud of having a hispanic background, in general our culture is different and unique then other countries
Oh ya, one example... my cousin is dating a non hispanic and yesterday we were talking about food. His cultures food is different then ours of course. Well he is trying our Ecuadorian dishes and YES he likes it!
