Helthcare,. and in regards of welfare,. I think that would help ppl who is able to work but simply doesn't want to,. or they working but without declaring,. I don't think that would be such as impact,. becaue welfare doesn't include,. compensation,.disability pension,.etc,..
And the Goverment should implement new programs to open more job positions,.if they choose to elimintate welfare,.

If there was a vote to keep one of the two benefits that we have in Canada which one would you choose and why?
I would have to say health care. I kind of work with insurance claims at work and have seen some bills that Americans have to pay for health care in their own country and they are scary
healthcare obviously !! i dont use welfare and i don think its fair for the people paying taxes!!
Welfare is an important for some families, but seriously.. they seem to be healthy enough to be working a decend job and with the healthcare we have.... there's no reason as to why they can't work!!!!

Healthcare... definitely healthcare. For the very same reason JC stated. I have a cousin that lives in the states and the amount that he has to pay for a simple check up is ridiculous.
What would our society be like without welfare? We all know that there are several impoverished communities and families that depend heavily on welfare. We also are aware of the assistance that new immigrants receive when they come to our country. So my question is, how would these families fair without a welfare system in place?

If there was no Welfare there would be less immigration to Canada. Immigrants would have to come and live or stay with established family members here to get started. Or they will need a degree or diploma to continue a career from back home....but then again most diplomas or degrees from back home mean nothing in Canada currently
