GO HAZEL GO!

Mississauga rocks....there are places to party here, although yeah, not the same as DT.

You got 108, My Apartment, Crocodile Roc, Blue Suede Sues, Ten, On The Curve, D Martini's and Enfield Place to party at and a little bit west, in the begining of Oakville you got Squeeze

You need a car in order to live here comfortably though, I would go nutz if I had to take the bus.......but thats what makes it a suburb.... 80% of people have a car or take the go train into town.

hey... Mississauga is a good place to live, u can walk at 3 am in the morning outside (at least where I live ), schools r safe for the kids... if u have them.

It is quiet, not sirens going out 24/7, u can walk trankilamente on the street w/out ppl telling ya to hurry or to move...

transportation is weird thou who ever heard about a bus every 20 min??? but whatever...

I have supermarket, bank, pizza pizza, fish and fries store (lol), cleaners, hair and nail salon, bars and pool hall, karate school, internet cafe, restaurants, micky D's, mall, all within 5 minutes drive a plaza rite in front of my house oh and a beer store lol...

Clubs.... yeah I won't deny it but Tdot is the city...

PD: If u want a saturday or sunday morning activity u can go to port credit and buy a bag of bird food feed the pajaritos jajajaja.... , but home depot is not the place to be...

If you haven't lived in the city, you can't make a comparison.

When walking downtown, no one has ever told me to hurry up or move and I walk slow for Jebus' sake!!!  I also didn't have to deal with sirens 24/7 as you say.

Case in point, you have EVERYTHING around you within a 5 minute DRIVE!!  I had everything within a 5 minute WALK!

I used to go to M.A.C., Club Monaco, XOXO, etc. WITHOUT having to step foot in a mall.  All I had to do was walk to Queen St.  Now I have to deal with idiot drivers at Square One.

It's just a matter of convenience, that's all.

and the number one rejected slogan for the City of Mississauga:

Mississauga: We got more Tim Horton's on Britannia that there are in the whole GTA!

The Home Depot one ... come on, that one would be great for Bolton or some small town.  I've lived in Mississauga now for the past 4 years, and although there aren't as many things to do here as there is in Toronto, its not all that bad.  I like the area I live in, close to both highways, square one, movie theaters, restaurants, bars/lounges (Port Credit)... and more.  There are things to do, you just need to look a little bit harder.

and yet... where does everyone go on saturday/sunday mornings? and keep in mind I meant home depot as a generic reference.. u can easyly substitute: Rona or the Homesense up in Heartland or any of those

Phanta, you and I aren't 50 years old, I don't go hanging out at the Home Depot or Rona, anyother big box outlet store.  I do like having them within driving distance for better deals on clothes, and stuff, but I still don't hang out there. You'll get the kids that live within walking distance of the area, or the adults looking to do some work on their house.  But you won't catch me there on a sat or sun morning.

Why are you guys hating on 'sauga? It's the suburbs like every other suburb. Malls, super stores, theatres, restaurants, fast food, industrial areas, parks, schools, etc etc...

Nothing will ever compare to living in a downtown or even uptown area where everything is within walking distance.

Plus downtown is the way it is because that's where the early settlers made their home and business; close to the waterfront.

Say what you want about Mississauga but the mayor Hazel McCallion deserves HUGE respect for the work she's done over the years during Mississauga's huge growth spurt.

I would agree that the night life is lacking but that is just a matter of time I think.  I think Port Credit would be the best area to designate as a 'club district'.

Mississauga really needs to improve their public transit though.  Many of those buses run too infrequently.

There are about 7 on Britannia between Hurontario and and Mississauga Rd,

8 if you count the one just off Britania on Streetsville

I don't know about this one... we went to Miss. last year for someone's BDay party (though now he's QEPD) and looked and looked and looked for a Timmy's and couldn't find one! In that huuuuuge place, not one Tim Hortons...

You go to Durham and there's one in every corner. Sometimes two.

I agree with all of you: the burbs are not for young single people. It's boring. It's great for families, though. I can't complain. I've lived in soooooo many places that I'm pretty adaptable.

Actually, there are Timmy's in Mississauga! I know a few around Dundas and Cawthra! Other then that, i don't know where the rest are!

I don't know which street you were on but there is a Timmy's EVERYWHERE here... gawd.. the worse part about it is that they are all always packed with ppl in the morning.... booo!!!

As for the Timmy's Capital of Ontario... I would have to say that Hamilton takes the cake.  Oh, BTW, that is the worst city to live in.... it's so old, dirty and run down.

I wouldn't even THINK of moving out east though!

Ironically enough, I do like Milton.

I DO NOT like Mississauga at all!

I've only been there a handful of times, but there's nothing there that has ever made me say: I'd love to live here.

I like the East much, much better.

I got a second job so that I would only have to drive to Mississauga to sleep!

I hate the GO train.  I hate Hurontario with their bazillion traffic lights and I hate that I have to leave the house at 6:45am as opposed to 8:00am!!!

On the other hand, I love coming home to El Pibe and having a nice, home cooked meal waiting for me, and my lunch packed and ready to go for the next day!!!    He totally makes it worth it!

NO HOUSE PARTIES!!!!

I know you've lived in T-punto foreverrrrr.......but how do you feel?

I personally don't like it very much.....it's not a "warm city".....so I can never see myself living there......

But how are you doing over there?

Are you guys throwing a house warming party?
