FYI - Thought it was a great article & kinda funny some comments.
Here's the skinny
A PERFECT FIT FOR THE IMPOSSIBLY SLENDER, SKINNY PANTS ARE THE BANE OF REAL WOMEN EVERYWHERE By ANN MARIE MCQUEEN
They're two simple words that strike fear into the hearts of women everywhere this fall: Skinny pants.
Skinny pants -- not the pair most women have stuffed in their closets in case of future weight loss -- feature a form-fitting, ankle-grazing leg, having filtered down from the pages of Vogue and runways of Milan into mainstream stores like The Gap. There they sit in slim piles, beneath images of impossibly slender icon Audrey Hepburn. Gap Canada spokeswoman Tara S. Wickwire tells Sun Media the black skinny pant "has been incredibly well-received." Online, the chain touts skinny jeans, promising "you don't have to be stick-thin to pull off the look." Real women -- the kind with thighs and hips -- aren't so sure. Their sentiments might be summed up by a recent discussion thread on San Francisco's Craigslist, "F the skinny pants."
"It's not flattering," says Milton's Tracy Petepiece, 36. "Doesn't it make you mad? I guess it's just the designers who don't know anything about real women or real women's bodies."
With "a closet full of boot cuts," Petepiece jokes she plans to wear only yoga pants and stay out of malls "until the trend is over."
At 42, Ottawa's Brenda Main last wore skinny pants back in the '80s. She won't be wearing them again.
"First off, they are not skinny pants," she says. "They are humiliating pants." Or "sausage casings," laughs Main, wondering how she could pull off a look favoured by the near-skeletal former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham.
Or what shoes she might wear if she could.
"You've got these skinny little tapered ankles and you just see these big ski feet at the bottom," she said. "Either you wear flats, and that really lifts your ass, or you wear high, spikey shoes and you look like a total tramp."
London's Susie Crawford is a 29-year-old, five-feet-four, size six yoga enthusiast, yet she doesn't plan to buy into the trend. "You always see them in magazines," she said, "and it's all tall, skinny models."
Kristina Simpson, of Edmonton, is tall and skinny.
"I don't really like them because they make my legs look kind of stickish."
Simpson co-owns tall women store KAJ Clothing along with her six-foot, size-six business partner Janine Gahn. Gahn is partial to skinny pants.
"They look wicked on her and she loves them," says Simpson.
Women of all sizes do have something real to fear from skinny pants, she believes, because they do nothing to balance out larger areas.
"If you're really hippy and you have a big booty," she says, "probably not the best thing to go for."
Still Simpson firmly believes every woman should at least try them before swearing off altogether.
Vancouver fashion stylist Leila Bani, who just worked with Anne Heche for a People magazine shoot, loves the look.
"I think it's all about feeling comfortable and feeling confident in them, that's really the key," says Bani, who recently convinced a friend in London to try skinny pants.
"It works ... after so many years of straight leg and flares, it's just rethinking it a little bit," she said. "I'm assy and hippy myself, and I like to wear them with voluminous tops."
Erica Yeu, Holt Renfrew's contemporary casual buyer, calls skinny pants her most important silhouette for fall.
And spring.
Yeu acknowledges women with hips and short legs are not for skinny pants made, but still believes most can pull them off with a few wardrobe adjustments. She advocates high boots worn over the pant leg, a long top or the ultimate height-boosting, weight diminishing trick: One colour, head-to-toe.
Those women who can't or won't succumb to the trend can always buck it with their old boot-cuts, says Yeu, though it won't go unnoticed.
"You'll either look really old-fashioned or you'll look forward," says Yeu. "But you won't look current."

What's so ugly about love handles??? Don't speak for yourself on this one.
True, some guys don't like love handles but they don't have to bash someone who may have them!!!
Who's bashing anyone here, I said personally I don't like them & that's that. Simple.
Did I type "YOU"? No, I typed "THEY"
Don't get it twisted.
I'm going for lunch now so I can feed my fat a$$ and my love handles!!
It's good to know I don't have a superficial man!!!

That's so wrong Danny. Not all women can nor want to be sticks like the ones you like!!! Believe it or not, some men like to have a woman that actually has the BODY of a woman and not that of a pre-pubescent girl!!!!
Well in his defence Luv handles are ugly & tons of guy don't like it on girls.
Althou having curves doesn't necesarily mean u need to have luv handles.
I personally as a girl hate them & think they're althou I gotta live with it.

Try Artizia & Garage, both of these places have them & very nice ones too.
Thanks girl, I will look there as well.

Danny: thats too funny bro... you're gonna get ur aSs kicked preety soon man.. keep pushin them buttons..
What's up w the skinny jeans?? i seen some gurls yesterday wearing them, them gurls had flabs jus hangin out... some gurls jus need to keep wearin wat they usually wear till they drop some pounds... not to say that they'll pull the look off or anything..but at least it'll be les flabs hangin out..
First thing to do is to try them on... never assume that you cant pull it off or that they wouldnt look right etc etc. Try them on, see how they look and feel, who knows, you might find that you can pull them off no problem.
They give you a really flattering shape and give your butt an awesome shape
You are right, i should give it a try. But seriously, i think they only look good on skinny girls & i'm too curvy! I saw a girl this morning with those jeans on & it looked good on her skinny body & last week i saw this not so skinny girl & it did not look good. But then again, it's how you wear it that will make you look good! I'll go to H&M today and give it a try!

Good girl! The first step is to try them on.
And in my personal humble opinion, I think that skinny jeans look wicked on curvy girls. It accentuates your shape and gives you a really nice outline.

But in order to pull off this look, you HAVE to wear them with the proper shoes. These can best be paired withhigh skinny stilletos, stay away from big clunky heels/shoes as it makes it look super weirdish and unproportioned.
It definately emphasizes a coca-cola shaped body for sure.
THESE JEANS WILL DEFINITELY SHOW OFF YOUR CURVES!! PICK A NICE PAIR OF STILLETOS LIKE CHALE SAID AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO!!
THEN AGAIN...NOT EVERYONE CAN PULL OFF THIS LOOK! ....
