I found yesterday the great movie"Pantaleon y las Visitadoras" in vhs for $3. That's a good movie, not a new one though.
Holy sh-it, I'm amazed at my own memory... as soon as I read Pantaleon y las Visitadoras, I knew it was you, 'cause you mentioned that a looooong long time ago. I'm good, man.
@ MiMi: Maybe I'm on to something with the other ongoing investigation.
Pantaleon y las Visitadoras" .Oh yes, rigth you are. I love this movie cause I have the chance to see "Juana Valentina" in her birthday suit.
Oh!, On monday nigth I went to see "Fearless" ,i think it's a great movie, beautiful, excellent. It shows how a great country can be tried to be divided for the benefit of the west that didn't even hid the prejudice against chinese people. This movie also reminded me about Bruce Lee and his dislike for japanese b.s against the chinese.
I AM!! I really like this guy! I've watched Ong-bak a million times (ok, maybe twenty) As far as martial arts movies go, I think he's the best EVER... never seen anybody do what this guy does
YES.....he's crazy!! ...... as real as it ALL looks.....do you think they have some stunts or strings attached like for JET LI?
In fact, they DON'T! no stunt people... and no wires ni nada! (maybe some safety nets, pero that's it)

I wayched JET LI's "Fearless" and it was pretty good.....(if you like martial arts)....I didn't like the ending though......but it's good enough for a true story......
Has anyone seen THE LAST KISS? ...I think it's about turning 30 and making the wrong choices.....etc.....more of a couples movie and depressing for those turning 30.....lol
The Last Daliah is getting awful reviews......has anyone seen that?
One movie I HIGHLY recommend is "THE ILLUSIONIST".......it's so good!!! I would have never thunk it..... I walked into the wrong theatre and watched this by mistake.....sooo worth it!
Oh my goodness.. please don't waste your money on the BLACK Daliah... someone invited me so i went and i fell asleep in the first hour and woke up at the closing credits.
It was really slow and boring. It's based on a true story (murder of an actress or someone famous) that happened in the 40's but it doesn't make it any better. It looks like a movie that was made in the 40's with the colour that was on it. Ahh.. just awful...
Thanks for clarifying that! I wasn't sure myself!! LOL
Of course, the girly in me did NOT like the story line, but i did like the martial arts part, but at one scene, the kicking a$$ part dragged on too long!! Either way, the girly in me gave it a thumbs down!!!
no problem! just tryin to help!
I say next time u go watch this kinda movies just leave teh girlie side at home and just enjoy all the asskickingness glory, did I mention he knees people on the head???? like while they're standing up and stuff!

what? you found Manuel Noreaga? In the Phillipines? He has a mansion? Ok, we on it, on it, right now!
Tony Jaa kicks so much ass... I dont even care what the hell the elephants and that stupid subplot with the corrupt cop was all about. In the last movie he spent the whole 2 hours looking for a stone head.... this time was elephants... whatever man, he beats people with elephant bones!!!!!
That scene where he beats them 3 giants down was wicked... also when he fought the capoiera guy in the flooded burning bulding... was pure unadulterated wickedness... even the one where he cripples all the 100 other guys.. kinda reminded me of that scene in Kill Bill where the Bride cuts everyone's arms/legs off. Not to mention he fully knees (yes knees) like 3 people right on their head and the man is like 4 feet tall..

I do NOT recommend "The Protector". The actors do not know how to act and at some points of the movie, the martial arts part drags on too much. If you watch it, you'll know what i mean! Plus the story line is so dumb!!
OMG ur such a girl....

Cool so let's go watch that 1GRIDIRON GANG n every1 is welcome so let's make it a movie day just like we did lat time...
Great!! Sounds like a plan, but it will have to be next weekend! Friday i can't go and on the weekend i have a wedding on Saturday and a Baptism on Sunday!
U mean Thanks giving long weekend?? cause if is that weekend I can't I may go 2 Montreal that weekend...
I agree! YES the guy is a great martial arts performer, but the movie just sucked a$$. The story line was wack, they should have tried to make it more interesting or make the meaning of the elephants more meaningful....or don't know. Also when there's like 100+ guys and they are all getting their body parts broken...............well LG knows what i mean! It just dragged on too long!
It's ok Bellini - I understand you and you understand me.

I guess u have to have an understanding of OTHER CULTURES! besides if u did watch it closely at the begining it somewhat shows u why it means so much! its not just an Elephant to them its a family memeber! its kinda like ppl and dogs. Its also about Honour and yes one or two fight sceens seem unrealist but still I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO MARTIAL ART LOVERS!
@ jOKER - YES ITS GOOD PLUS THE ROCK LOOKS SO GOOD IN IT!!!
I did watch the beginning and understand the reason why the elephants are so special – family members… I just wouldn’t go through so much hell for an animal, no matter how attached I was to it… someone steals my birds/fish/dog, I won’t go chase them to Brampton, never mind out of country… LOL ok - maybe LG is not quite an animal lover!

You know i would go with you, but you know the type of movies i don't like. So if you want to go, give me a shout, but NO to Jackass!!
I watched The Last Kiss and completely enjoyed it. I wasn't too crazy about the ending but the story itself was pretty good. I would NOT recommend going to see it in theatres 'cause it more of a Blockbuster Night movie and not really worth spending $13 to go and see.
I want to see The Illusionist...is this the one with Ed Norton or with Christian Bale? I keep getting mixed up with The Prestige which looks really good as well.
(The Illusionist) YES....it's the one with Edward Norton and Jessica Biel......I also got the Illusionist mixed up with Prestige.....thinking it was that movie I went to see it....but it was worth it....PRESTIGE comes out Ocotber 20th I believe......
I also heard Tha Last Kiss ending was not as expected.....

AGREED: some martial arts parts were wicked; but they were a wee bit too long... I guess we don't get the love for elephants as much as people from Thailand do...
WAIT: Maybe Mimi will understand it better and LOVE this movie!
