My mom was so depressed that I took off on her.  Please, when she gets older, don't remind her OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again!!!!!

I don't think my mom will ever forgive me for that!!!

I have cried on my daughter's first day of school every year.  This year it was more of a cry because she is now a "junior" in grade 4.  So now its more the mingling with the friends, the little boys checking her out, and I am not happy about that

Thanks! I know my son will be ok! After the fiasco he did today...(not wanting to go home and stay at school) i know he'll have a great time in school! It's just me......i miss those baby/toddler days!! Heehee......i'll get over it! If i could, i would have booked the whole week off at work! Well at least my work schedule permits me to drop him off at school every morning!!!

@ Bellini - I think it's a natural reaction for u to feel that way.

My sis-in-law when her yr. of maturnity was up & it was her first day back at work, she found EVERY EXCUSE/ILLNESS not to go to work & stay with her baby. It was ok at first for my brother, but then he put her straight & now it's all good. See she was a bit too extra cus my niece is being taken care by my sis-in-law's mom, which is better then any stranger.

Has anyone experienced their child go to school for the first time??

Well my little man starts JK next week and i think i'm more excited then he is. He has his backpack, new clothes etc... all ready for Monday! I wonder if i will be the only one with a camera and then walking away with tears knowing that my little man is not a toddler no more! Unlike me, he will actually do well his first day. Today i took him to school to meet his new teacher and let me tell you..........my little boy had a fit when it was time to leave. He was crying to stay in school. I hope he remembers this later on in life!

So what was your or your childs reaction to his/her first day of school?
