I know a girl that is talking to this guy who has absolutely NO interest in hip hop... and she's a hip hop junkie.
I dont know how or if this will survive... but all I know is that I love muda****in hip hop! I couldnt do it.... I couldnt deal with someone that doesnt love the hip hop game.

if there both truly interested in eachother and want to make a relationship out of it i dont think anyone has to give up anything! I mean hip hop is good music so im sure he can put up with it or listen to it! and im sure there are other things they can both talk about! and enjoy the company there with!
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH GENIE, I DATED A GIRL OF A DIFFERENT CULTURE AND SHE HATED SALSA, BACHATA, ETC... WE STILL TOLERATED EACH OTHERS LIKES AND WE HAD AN AWESOME RELATIONSHIP WHILE IT LASTED!!!

Amen to that brother, I always say the same!
....trust me.....
In Colombia there is a style of robbing called "el paquete chileno", go figure why? LMAO. And no it`s not the paquete you`re thinking of. LMAO Tenemos fama internacional!
@ all: Thanks for your imput foro fam... but my guess is that it wont last worth a lick... two different people that are entirely different. He's a lil bit country, she's a lil bit rock and roll..
I know someone that her bf is 3000% christian bautist and doesn't hear anything but christian music and she is catholic and hear from sappy ugly songs to hardcore rock... they found others things in common... and compromise to some music like christian salsa and love songs or something like that when they r together
I don't think music, is a problem to endure a relationship, they can find something else in common to do together...

There are far more important things to base the potential of a relationship.
If your friend's boyfriend refuses to accept the hip hop or he puts it down then that would cause friction. On the other hand if your friend is the one who puts up walls by not putting any interest into her boyfriend's musical interests then that will cause friction too.
I think that whoever makes a big deal out of the fact that others don't share their likes is a close minded person. Learn to accept the differences and share with each other I say.
Is he totally against it?? Or is he open minded? It doesn't really matter if you think about it... he will have to be tolerant about her taste like in anything else they disagree about. As long as he is down with Salsa, Merengue and Spanish music in general than he will be ok. If it's meant to be .. it will be..
It's sort of like when you are a "mixed race" couple. Imagine... you date a Chinese guy and he likes chinese whininig music.. does it matter. As long as they keep it down and on their personal iPOD.. it shouldn't be a big deal.
I'm sure this was not meant to sound as racist as it does.

I know it may not sound to serious to others but I can see how the love of music can be a problem for some. Personally, Im into anything and everything so I dont think I`d have much disagreements when it comes to music. If anything, I`ve had the problem where not everyone understands some of my taste in music.

WOW that's pretty serious... So this chick is going to potentially blow off a potential good guy just 'cause he doesn't love the "game". That's gay and retarded. (No offense to your friend).
