Pelon man you slept on the same bed yo abuelita died? You must be some brave man let me tell you. One thing fo sho is I loved my querida abuelita to death but I wouldn't dare to sleep on her bed ever! I know she looks out for me and I pray to her everyday and night before going to bed but I don't want to see no more spirits around. I saw one before and I don't want to see another, it just creeps me out. I must admitt I do love horror flicks, I guess that is the reason why I believe in ghosts. Old casas scare me, old towns creep me out that's why I prefer the city don't like being in small towns unless it's during the day.
Never mind the noise lucky you ain't got ghosts in your house or do you? One thing I would hate is to have spirits roaming around. I believe in spirits because I did see one before and I don't want to see it again. This is why I won't buy an old house, it has to be new and most likely around the city because I believe there are too many werid things out in the country.
Mmmm...personally I do believe in spirits however havent had the chance of coming around one not that I would anyways. As for buying an old house...dude our first house was an old ass home made in (1925). Anyways getting to the point my grandmother died on my bed and the next day I spelt there...I dunno if you would find that creepy or not but just wanted to bring that up

appearantly you gotta get mad and swear like hell at the ghost and they'll go away. Your neighbours will probably call the cops for some domestic disturbance though

Yeah, but houses with ghosts are always cheaper Still a good deal, if you ask me
And you can always spray some ghost spray, or something

Yes the house is priced very reasonably...$216K 1275sq ft. Mattamy Village townhouse, 3 floors with 10K off the price, or 10K in upgrades, so since its new and in a developing area the price will go up by the time we want to sell it (in 3-5 years), but with the tracks there, it might be tough to sell it to a person at market price, we will most likely need to sell for less...but if less still means were making a profit then thats fine with me. Appearantly Mattamy does not give deals like this unless there is some negative lingering around (THE TRAINS!!), but people are still buying in that phase so i guess these people don't mind the trains. I'm more worried about not knowing how the noise will be inside the house.
I agree with MM when he said "Caraquea, your house is cheaper because of the tracks... think of it in the future when you might want to sell it, how much would you make/lose?"
It's not everyday you come across a Buyer that want's to get a house by the tracks. When I was younger I'd visit friends that had a house by the tracks and well it's nothing pleasant. The house completely shakes and you better make sure you don't have glass picture frames on the wall cause they may fall too. As for getting a house yup it may be cheaper but there's always a price to pay. Suerte with that.

Otherwise, to answer your question, my friend's backyard was beside tracks. Scared the sh*t out of us when she had BBQ's but she said she didn't notice it even at nights. It's something you get used to.
@careque - i have friends who there backyard is the train tracks and when i was younger i would sleep over and nope no sound while the windows and doors are closed! the glass they use is some kind of soundproof so at night it was ok however if u were in the back yard yeah u could hear the trains going by but nothing too annoying cuz they werent that often and they werent blowing there horns!
@Careque......I personally don't live beside the railroad, but it's literally down the block from my house now & I don't haer anything cause like I said I'm not very close by, but it's defenitly ANNOYING to wait for a long a$$ train to get by when your in rush hour or in any rush for that matter.
Personally I would never buy a house or condo beside any railroad cause it dose bring down the cost of your home, not many ppl. are willing to put up with the annoying noise & haveing to wait like 20 minutes for this train to get by. Also TTC & school buses, public transit they all have to do a complete 5secs. or whatever time stop at this railroads & it's sooooo annoying.

But now that you mention it.....I get many planes flying really close to where I live getting ready to land at the YYZ.....and for me...I'm used to it....but when people come over they get scared...or shaken up with the noise.....and of course they ask: DOESN'T THAT BOTHER YOU?? LOL
It all takes getting used to I guess.....

I did, back in Mex. I don't think you're house will vibrate, the windows might.
The noise, well, there is nothing you can do about it and those wall that are built around it are not effective enough, I think. At the same time, it is not like the train is passing every 5mn, did you check the schedules ? Is the house that close from the railways ? I mean, the house, the street the wall and that's it ?
Personally I won't take it. What kind of upgrades and incentives are making this house SO much more interesting than others ? Because I am sure that some of the upgrades can be made by one with a little bit of time.

I used to.. up until a couple of months ago Cargo CN trains... NO DIVIDING WALL!
I used to HATE it at first! then I learned to like it... actually love it.... something romantic about train noise And after a while you don't even notice it's passing by (unless it's super loud) like living near an airport.... after a while you tune the airplane noise out
My house would shake a little.... but it won't damage it.. my house was probably close to a hundred years old... and probably enduring the train passing by for just as long. It was still very solid
It's not everyone though

oh yeah there are a ton of alternatives, all that cost about 20-30K more without any kind of upgrade incentives.... home buying is a pain in the aaaaaaaaaaaaaass!!
I'm looking at buying a particular house in Milton but the only problem is that its right reside a CN railroad (no GO trains) with a noise wall seperating the tracks and the street.
does anybody have any experience with living next to a railroad?, does your house vibrate? can u sleep at night?, ..
