I also like Spencer Tunick.... he's a photographer that specializes in taking masive nude pictures around the world...

His pictures are very impresive..not because of the nudes, but because of the effect of his pictures and the places that he chooses (usually landmarks)

With all this talk about art (painting mostly), I'm curious as which painters you all like and why. Do you recognize their work easily?

Boris Vallejo and Fernando Botero.  I can recognize their work right away.

Oh I love Botero, yes, very recognizable. I don't know Boris Vallejo.

So anyway... I love art. I dunno why but I love it. I'm not an art snob - I wish! But all the art book flipping has helped me become familiar with a lot of artists' work.

The Frenchies that I really like are (pfffffffft Too many!) Henri Rousseau (sp? Julie ) and Degas. Well, there are really too many Frenchies... Cezanne - love his work.

I don't really like Surrealism ( I can't stand Dalí ) but I really like René Magritte's work. He's one of my faves.

I can totally, honestly can say, con la mano en el corazón, that I know as much about art as I know geography and math. Oh, and mechanics or car components and the like.

Honestly.

On a side note, I really like la pintura primitivista from Nicaragua, and have looked (e-bay) to buy this kind of paintings 'cause it is my dream (or plan or whichever) to decorate my home with a latinamerican touch (they don't carry anything latino at Leon's, BTW). So far I have a marimba and a couple of maracas. Decorating is expensive!

anyhoo, yeah, I like Solentiname's pintura primitivista...
