I also like Spencer Tunick.... he's a photographer that specializes in taking masive nude pictures around the world...
His pictures are very impresive..not because of the nudes, but because of the effect of his pictures and the places that he chooses (usually landmarks)
With all this talk about art (painting mostly), I'm curious as which painters you all like and why. Do you recognize their work easily?
Boris Vallejo and Fernando Botero. I can recognize their work right away.
Oh I love Botero, yes, very recognizable. I don't know Boris Vallejo.
So anyway... I love art. I dunno why but I love it. I'm not an art snob - I wish! But all the art book flipping has helped me become familiar with a lot of artists' work.
The Frenchies that I really like are (pfffffffft Too many!) Henri Rousseau (sp? Julie ) and Degas. Well, there are really too many Frenchies... Cezanne - love his work.
I don't really like Surrealism ( I can't stand Dalí ) but I really like René Magritte's work. He's one of my faves.

Yup, HenrY, always with a "y" well, the classic way at least.

I can totally, honestly can say, con la mano en el corazón, that I know as much about art as I know geography and math. Oh, and mechanics or car components and the like.
Honestly.
On a side note, I really like la pintura primitivista from Nicaragua, and have looked (e-bay) to buy this kind of paintings 'cause it is my dream (or plan or whichever) to decorate my home with a latinamerican touch (they don't carry anything latino at Leon's, BTW). So far I have a marimba and a couple of maracas. Decorating is expensive!
anyhoo, yeah, I like Solentiname's pintura primitivista...

The toothpaste? Dude, those vivid red tones are blood! Go see a dentist!
But yes... oh and the detail... holy bloody ****. Truly a master.

I like too many but it depends on the work itself. I'm very attracted by colour - lots of it, forms and composition. Oh and light... hmmmm. I don't really like religious art. :gag: I really, really like are Verneer, Rembrant (not all) and Van Gogh. All Dutch.

LOL, you're such funny bastard. You made me laugh just as I was answering the phone so the guy apologized. He thought I was laughing at the fact that he's called so much. I think that he thought that I thought he was a pain in the butt.
Oh, and just for calling me bastard...
BTW, you're starting to sound like Baina with your stories.
