Wow! I feel bad for you guys in T.O. .....It was the opposite this year in Montreal where the latin community were more than satisfy with the organizer by bring in us some good artist like Aventura in June. In July, Fulanito y Voltio (reggaeton group de puerto rico), Shaggy and Maxi Priest were here for Montreal Reggae Fest.

Still in July 22nd-23rd, Joe Veras, Tito Rojas y Papi Sanchez were here for el Festival de Merengue de Montreal with a very good crowd even though it was raining the 1st day, the people were dancing. On July 29th, Alex Bello, Elvis Crespo, N'Klabe (salsa group de puerto rico) made the public dancing until late at night. And now last friday August 4th, Magic Juan y Elvis Martinez put on a nice performance for the many muchachas y mujeres that were here and it finished by a delicious reggaeton contest on stage. Up to now, I can't complained for what we received in MTL.

I would suggest you guys to support the latin fest august 12th, go and see Qbanito (Montreal hispanic reggaeton group) who's having a blast in Montreal at the moment passing over some french artist in Québec among Quebecers too. You'll definetly dance with them on stage. The next day on Sunday, I am going to Qbanito but here in Montreal and Yaga y Mackie (reggaeton group from Puerto Rico) will be closing the show for the Guatemala cultural day. For all these event la communidad latina (hispana) ha apoyado los eventos.

And I hope you'll all do the same for the Latin Fest in T.O.

and also do not hesitate to come in Montreal when you see artist and show that you'd like to see. Organize yourself with friends for rides here. Don't let these artist pass by. There's a 6 hour-drive for a ride between Montreal and Toronto.

The organizer were so good this year, that I had even forgot that Amarfis performed last July 15th, Criollo on July 29th and last Sunday for Cuban cultural day..the invited artist was Eddie Santiago. I hope it will be the same thing next year.

TLN is just getting worst . this year they didn even show the world cup

I'm VERY happy we got QBANITO actually.....he deserves sooooo much to be at this Festival......he has quietly achieved a lot more than many artists out here.....he hustled his way to the top (trust me).....he's a "celebrity" in his own city and especially in France......as the 1st artist to ever do Reggaeton in French with Universal Distribution....and he's CUBAN....so go figure!

I was looking forward to seeing Tumbao....but for that price I would have also not taken the contract.....

The 2 I look forward to seeing this year are:   QBANITO & VISIONERO

And I know for a fact that EL IMPERIO is gonna put on a wicked, energized performance to open up the event!

As to the fest.....it's

I guess the only thing that will motivate anyone is that you get free access to the park & it's facilities.

It will never be free....that's just bad business!

For FREE event we have Toni Reyes as an example....

Wonderland will always have to pay a fee especially to the park for using it....so that's why they charge the $30 cover.....with or without major acts.....

Phastasma is right TLN is not going to bring better bands, because they still get a full house, they will only bring better bands when they fell that is the only way to get spanish people to go to this events. if they don't feel the pressure of the people they will still do bussiness as they always do, with their own interest in mind and not of the consumer.

Because the point of business is to make more money than you spend. They're not in the business of spending money just cause they have it. They could care less who they put on since people will go to LatinFest regardless of who performs so its to their advantage to spend less in the performers so they get to keep a greater percentage of money.

From what I know....Ricky Franco & The PCREW orchestra got the gig.....but unfortunately something came up and Ricky was not able to make it that weekend.....

Tumbao would also have been really great since we haven't seen them in so long.....have they ever performed at the Latinfest?

It seems that if you have performed there in the past, they would not like you to come back so they give upcoming acts a chance too.....(Ex: Alex Bello y Fito Blanko)

I know a lot of people wanted a Salsa act......since most of us are still in the swing of Gran Combo and Victor Manuelle's shows......but how would they top that?

And I think like you (rick)....many people are going to show up for the event with theri families & friends and just as part of it, go to the concert as well.....regardless of the performances.....since it's the only Latin Day Wonderland has.....

I say if you're into Reggaeton.....give these acts a chance....

Personally.....a well balanced and marketable show would be the BEST thing.....meaning, featuring local acts who have just released an album and help them with the promo and sales.....EX: Alex Bello & Criollo....

But TLN took a different (and weird) approach this year.....I guess they were not thinking about ticket sales.....and how this may affect the "success" of this annual event big time!

YES, regardless....it's a family day....full of rides, water-park, food, music...etc....but years ago for the same price we got all that and 3 or 4 of the TOP Latin acts worldwide.....

So is it a budget problem? A planning ahead problem? Not enough artists willing to compromise their price? or bad decisions over all.....

The good thing is that eventhough TLN had several international GREAT acts willing to come for free....they gave those spots to local acts who are very excited to be a part of this event.....but with this decision, they risked the attendance of the event....
