Ok, I haven't heard or read what his mom said but what he did say.

That it was not the right thing to do, he is sorry and apologized to all the kids, teachers and tutors that saw his gesture but that his is do not regret doing it. Because Materazzi said things about his mom and sister that really hurt him and that he would have prefered to recievce a punch on the face that to hear those words.

Now regarding what him mom told the press, I think that was not very clever. Because many, many kids look after him like an icone and with that, first, esta contradiciendo what her son is trying to do and second, it's like giving the ok to use violence to solve your problems Big Mami Zidane. Obviously, I am looking at it in the actual socio-economic ocntest of France, that why I think it can only provoque more problems than anything else.

So professional lip readers really do exist. I thought they were merely urban legends thanks to Bush's acceptance speech in '88.

LMAO @ Guada.
