I just received this email. So I'm passing it along.

Billy is a true supporter of latin music and local musicians here in toronto.

Good afternoon all.

I am contacting you today with the hope that you or someone you know will
be able to assist us.

There is a fundraiser in the works to be held for Billy Bryans.
In mid May, Billy was diagnosed with an operable type of lung cancer. He
has assured us that an operation, along with the appropriate medication
and his due recuperation will enable him to continue doing what he loves:
promoting music and DJing around Toronto.

Billy is scheduled for his operation within the next few days.

Mr. Bryans is an important music promotor for the latinamerican sector in
Toronto, as well as the drummer for the popular 80's band The Parachute
Club. He has brought many Cuban artists to Toronto, as well as worked with
numerous local latin bands, both Alexis and Adonis Puentes, and
anyone that
asks him!

A few of us have got together to organize a fundraiser, not only to show
him that we all care for him, but to let him know that we are all with him
in the bad as well as in the good times.

The fundraiser has a tentative date for the 20th of August at the Lula
Lounge (more information to follow) under the theme "With a little help
from my friends (...)"

We are currently looking for donations for door prizes, silent
aution/raffle. If you are willing to donate something for this cause, or
know of anyone willing to donate, please forward this e-mail to them.

All proceeds are to be given to Billy at the end of the night.

Please send all correspondance to
maritta_yo@hotmail.com

Thank you!

Mari
