Well, the Spanish players can kiss all that money goodbye, not that they had it in their pockets.

I would have thought that lifting the trophy would be incentive enough but the money doesn't hurt either. Kaching! Both big teams and small timers are handing out bonuses to their players as a way to reward and inspire greatness. Spain is at the top of the list with each player promised a cool 570,000 Euros for bringing home the country's first World Cup. Some other teams that will be heading to the bank after a World Cup title include: South Korea - $US526,000England - 430,000 Euros/playerSwitzerland - 350,000 EurosGermany - 300,000 EurosPoland – Roughly 300,000 EurosPortugal – 275,000 EurosItaly – 250,000 Euros Brazil’s players will also be treated royally with Nike throwing $6 million  towards the football federation for a sixth World Cup.  Iran’s players were offered 50,000 Euros for playing in Germany and they get a new car; a Peugeot. Woo hoo! I'd have no complains. Saudi Arabia’s players are not being offered cash but they might be rewarded with houses and land. I don't know if they'll get it only if they win. So... yeah, so much for that anyway. Ukraine’s players can actually sleep with their loved ones if they make the semifinals (ok, WTF kind of incentive is that?). I wonder if some will actually play badly on purpose That would explain the 0 - 0 right now. The players from Togo have managed negotiated 120,000 Euros a man just for competing in the finals, plus 30,000 euros per victory and half that amount for defeat. Interesting. Angola will have to going to break the bank by paying each player $5,000 per goal. The players have also received a cell phone with 1,000 free roaming minutes. So much for Bono's debt relief plan.

During one of the games this weekend the narrators mentioned something about the incentives some football federations are offering their national team in case they win the 2006 World Cup.

Some other teams that will be heading to the bank after a World Cup title include:

South Korea - $US526,000
England - 430,000 Euros/player
Switzerland - 350,000 Euros
Germany - 300,000 Euros
Poland – Roughly 300,000 Euros
Portugal – 275,000 Euros
Italy – 250,000 Euros

Brazil’s players will also be treated royally with Nike throwing $6 million  towards the football federation for a sixth World Cup.

Iran’s players were offered 50,000 Euros for playing in Germany and they get a new car; a Peugeot. Woo hoo! I'd have no complaints.
