I don't know about Father Astudillo, but I think he is a fair man, and he has done more for the community than the rest of us. I don't believe the rumors.

Thing is, GiGi, I still think people in the church should never work in income-generating ventures. It's always a lose-lose situation. Also, you never know who you're working with and what their interests are, so if there's any doubt in anyone's mind, maybe it could be a reflection of how the business side of the radio is being handled. I still think church and corporations should never mix, regardless of the intentions.

I don’t think too many people will be able to negate what Father Astudillo has done and continues to do for his community and how he helps people. I personally know people who have been helped by him.
However, IF there is any truth to the accusation(s) – I would be very surprised and disappointed. Supposedly, the accuser(s) is/are people that have worked DIRECTLY with him and supposedly have “insider information”.
I am sure it’s not just me that was left with at least a miniscule doubt in my mind about how good he really is – or isn’t.

(yeah, ok - I was not sure if I wanted to open up this topic and stir this pot... then, I got bored this afternoon and HERE IT IS!)So, I was listening to morning radio the other day, and I just caught the end of a statement read on Voces Latinas - what I caught was that it appears that there are some accusations being made / already made against them... Anyone else hear / know about this?
From what I HAVE HEARD:
One accusation is that Father Astudillo has mis-used funds raised at various events for his personal gain/use... Of course, everyone is innocent till proven guilty.
