I just want to talk religion and politics with him.  Is that so much to ask

I was thinking more of discussing with him his thoughts on the evolution of rigatoni and spanish rock, but I guess politics and religion would be good too.

Oh please I wish!  I have tried trust me.  I have seen him speak in Mantanza twice and pretty close but never gotten close enough.  I even jumped up and down like a maniac trying to get his attention but nope...nada.  Last time I was there was with the man and we were being evacuated because of the hurricanes.....Fidel always helps out in devasted areas.....I actually thought about staying in Varadero because that is where the hurricane was supposed to hit and I thought that would be my chance to run into Fidel.  The Canadian goverment ordered the evacuation and said they would not pay for our flight back and they would not be responsible for anyone who didn't evacuate soooooooooooooooo we came back.  It didn't hit Varadero anyways  I just want to talk religion and politics with him.  Is that so much to ask

@ Chile: You're on a first-name basis with hotel personnel in Cuba? How often do you go? I already forgot everybody (except the airport Assholes) and I was just there a couple of months ago.

Well if I include the times I went with my moms and pops too then it's 11 all together.  Up until I met my husband I used to try and go at least twice a year.  When I was little I went a few times too.  I have tried out lots of hotels in Varadero but Tryp Peninsula Varadero is one of my favorites.  So yeah I have been to that resort like three times but I haven't been in like two years.  So yeah I have some friends in Cuba.  Next time you go let me know they are great at showing people a great time

@ Jaime: Were you guys living together before the wedding? If not, then the honeymoon stage will last for about a year, give or take a few months, and then reality will start to set in. Tell the wifey to come on foro. We'll have a few tips for her. SHE KNOWS ABOUT IT VIA CONFU!!!

We were in Varadero, Cuba. Married life so far is good and different. It's the first so far and things do feel different, but good.

Tell us about your wedding? HELOOOOOOOOOOOOO how was it? Did you like Tryp? Did you find Giovanni? TELL TELL TELL

The wedding was great even though we got rained on. On our wedding day it poured non stop.
Everyone was telling us that is was good luck since it was the first rain fall of the year in Cuba.
To be honest the rain did not really affect a thing. Everything was great and the wedding co-ordinator did a great job of making the best out of the situation. After the wedding ceremony we had a 2 hour break and then went to this amazing italian restaurant on the property for the reception. It was really nice and private. The food was great and we had a band play during dinner.
The rest of the week was also awesome. The Tryp is a great resort and I was suprised to see how big it was. It looked like a small community in there with all the villas being set up the way they were.
I didn't meet Giovanni. I did ask for him at reception, but they said he wasn't around.
We did get a deal on the Havana trip after talking to a few cabbies and rented a cab for $150 divided by 5 people.
The beach was also great and I am now starting to peel. I've been back in the office since yesterday and it's hard to get back in the mood to work
