Ricky, you and your orchestra out did yourselves Saturday night!!! I think all the foro members are proud to be a part of that grand performance. I won't ever doubt you again with your pre-performance 'ritual'

@ LB, sori ah for not saying goodbye but like Lahtina said, we did say goodbye to everyone else, gave big hugs and kisses to them too. (ps. thanks again )

What a beautiful night.

As usual, I had a little trouble with timing and missed some of the incredible moments that everyone has mentioned. But none the less, what a PERFECT NIGHT!

The location was WOW. The performance was WOW. The energy, excitement and jubilation of the crowd…absolutely amazing to watch, and definitely contagious. The audience had the time of their lives.

Ricky, Bainaman, P Crew and guests were OUTSTANDING. You all looked like you were having the time of your life. Thank you for giving all of us that FEELING…not sure how to describe it. Think you all know what I mean. Kind of that History in the making, Moment you will never forget kinda a feeling.

The show last night was awsome....like always.....there was such an energy at the place it was like no other. Its funny how you can get such high volume energy from a non-latin crowd. Regardless the night was memorable.

   I was honoured to be screaming on the mic at such a prestigious event. So many TALENTED musicians gave me the honour of sharing the stage with them...that INCLUDES the Toronto kats who blew me the FUCK AWAY!!!!!


      Those foro friends who came out and showed support are all wonderful people!! Thank you guys for being there...EVERYTIME!!! You guys are the shiznit REALLY!!


   But DAYUM!!....Full credit has to go to my band the P-Crew Orchestra who DIDN"T play "like" professionals because they ARE fukkin professionals!!!! You guys have no idea how proud I was being in front while this driving band played their asses off!! The crowd was going nuts and really dug our Shit.. I wanna personally thank all the foro member that came out to this event.


The ones who were there...can attest to the quality of this show.


For me personally........I have followed Ray Vega's career and it was an honor to share the stage with him. He was absolutely AMAZING!!!! So welcoming and so willing to play with us. Many guys at his level won't just play with anyone......So we were lucky to have him jam with us.


The Toronto talent was not only represented by The P-Crew. Luis Denis (alto sax) and Alex Brown (trumpet)....both from Cuba graced the stage with their blazing solos. One of the many highlites of the night.....was when Alex Brown and Ray Vega traded solos.....dueling, battling....trying to outdo each other.......WOW!!!! 


I have to give props to the guys who make up the P-Crew.


Rudy Bolanos (bass), David Virelles (piano), Chendy Leon (timbales), Johan Aguirre (congas), Vince Alvarado (bongos), Daniel Leon (trumpet), Jaime Stager (trombone), Luis Franco (vox), Laura Azahar (vox).....and subbing last night....Oscar Azahar (sax) and John Challener (trumpet)........and of course.....El Maestro Ricky Franco.


ALL great musicians who proved last night that they're all capable of sharing the stage with ANY "international" aritst and are worthy of the same respect and recognition. BELIEVE IT!

Like LB said........Ray told me and then said it on the mic......that he's been coming here since 1991......and he had NEVER heard a band like The P-Crew.......and told me ON STAGE that he would play with the P-Crew ANYTIME, ANYWHERE......STRAIGHT UP!!!!


This coming from someone who's played with many of the top recognized latin bands in New York and around the world.   RESPECT!!!!!!

@ Dogo: dammit! Did I miss you dancing?


Show was wicked last night. P Crew was great, I liked looking at David's face (he was the only musician I could really see) and he looked like he was having soooo much fun. Ricky sounded amazing, as usual; I kinda felt like his mic shoulda been a bit louder though, anyone else think so? Like at Winterfest (before the mic went out), there, I thought he sounded like: WOW!


Once again, stupid stomach!


@ Melanie, you gotta hook us up with the salsa lessons, woman! ASAP! I mean SOS.

agreed, the band was really tight and just watching ray vega and alex brown improvising... it was awesome!!!!

i just looked up ray vega.. he's worked with so many people in so many different genres of music.. totally dope that he played with you guys

anyway, we had a great time!! you guys should try to hook up something similar (jam session with other jazz musicians) during the Toronto Jazz Festival

So much energy coming from the stage, you had your audience captivated.

ONCE AGAIN.....RICKY FRANCO AND THE P-CREW ORCHESTRA SOLD OUT ANOTHER "NON-LATIN" EVENT (1000 PEOPLE) AT THE DISTILLERY JAZZ FEST....AND THIS ONE WAS THE BEST SHOW OF THE YEAR.....FEATURING AMAZING GUEST MUSICIANS (WORLDLY RECOGNIZED).....SUCH AS NUYORICAN TRUMPETER RAY VEGA AND CUBANO ALEX BROWN WHO HAD SUCH A WICKED SOLO AT THE END OF THE BOLERO "OBSESION".....


WE GOT SO MUCH VIDEO FOOTAGE AND OVER 30 NON-LATIN MEDIA MEMBERS WERE PRESENT COVERING THE EVENT.....SO YOU WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS ON THE RADIO, NEWSPAPERS AND ON TV.....


THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH TO THE 10 AND MORE FORO MEMBERS WHO CAME OUT TO SUPPORT, DANCE, DRINK AND ENJOY A LIVE SHOW LIKE NO OTHER.....

RICKY SOUNDED SO POWERFUL.....HE IMPRESSED PEOPLE WHO NEEDED TO BE IMPRESSED....AND REPRESENTED LATINOS WITH SOME CLASS.....YOU HAD TO BE THERE!!! ....THIS AUDIENCE WAS 99.999999% CANADIAN.....AND THEY WERE LOVING THE MUSIC EVEN IF THEY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A PEEP!  LOL


WHEN I SAID THIS SHOW WAS A "BIG DEAL" I REALLY MEANT IT.....YOU WILL SEE THE FOOTAGE SOON ....RICKY'S BAND WAS THE ONLY SALSA BAND PRESENT AT THIS JAZZ EVENT......A VERY BIG DEAL!!
