And clearly your job is so freakin' exciting that you're frolicking outside saving worms!!!! I admire your bravery using your bare hands! You know, cause they bite and all!!!! DORK!!!! LOL I'm not afraid of it, silly, they're icky! Hence the I am very more than punctual so I had time today to go for a little walk before starting the day but yes, I agree, there are more exciting jobs out there. However, I think it'll be hard to beat the environment; I'm very comfortable there, quite happy.
I love spiders. I used to feed one that lived in my wall, loved the way it would just stick out its legs and pull the flies in it's little hole in the wall.
as some of you know, i will be moving to the land down under for 4-5 months in july...in case you dont know where that is...its australia! other than the usual homesickness and fear of not knowing where im gonna live when i get there...the main thing im worried about is the fact that im afraid of everything that moves!!!!!!!!!!! spiders, flies, mosquitos, bees, snakes....basically anything with more than 4 legs!!!!!!!!!! from what i hear australia is known to have some of the most venomous snakes in the world and some of the biggest spiders...i mean BIG!!! my dilemma then becomes...how do i overcome this fear?? does anyone have any suggestions? I NEED HELP BEFORE I LEAVE!!!! or else i WILL DIE of an excess of heart attcks while im down there...has anyone overcome this fear? what do i do?

I think you should read more about these creatures and learn what to do if you encounter them. MOst of these creatures cause damages when people over react and do foolish things.
I think most of these creatures try to stay away from human since they don't wanna be stepped on by them.

Earth to Bonita... snakes have NO legs!
Facing your fears is definitely the best way to GET over them. I was terrified of cockroaches as a kid. Imagine how I felt WHEN we moved back to Mexico and I found out that they had huge ones that were able to fly? After years of exposure to those creepos, I can say that I've overcome my fear. Now I'm like ""Die beast! "

Bonita, no need to freak out like that, honestly. I leaved in Mx and believe me, Tarantulas, viudas negras and alacranes are everywhere.
First of all, you want to worry more about thge alacranes than anything else because the can be almost transparent. Sorry ! So before putting your shoes on, check and skae them, smae with your bed, check it and that's about it + bug spray.
BTW, unless you're going to live in a remote place, lost in the middle of nowhere, Corcodile Dundee style, there is no reason for you to be worried and or to even come across with one of those lovely thing.
Anyway, I don't think we can do something for you if you have a real Fobia, you better call your doc and do some relaxing/hypnosis sessions before you leave

RUN, RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN ........... and prepare yourself to RUN .... not just playing. If you want to get over this fear, you have to face it dead on. If you do come across anything like that take a deep breath, and try to keep calm. Small spiders, flies, mosquito's you are bigger and more than likely stronger so you can fend them off. As for the snakes, you shouldn't have to worry about those too much, unless you plan on living it the Australian outback. If you are in the city, then your chances of avoiding all of those things are soooooooooo much better.
start playing with toy spiders, move to a dead spider, next get close to small spiders, form there poke the small spider with a stick. Then let it climb the stick so it gets close to your hand, From there try to touch the small spider. spread this across a few days.........
