¿Por qué vivir en pareja engorda? ¿Vives en pareja y no entiendes por qué has subido de peso? Un estudio en Gran Bretaña asegura que vivir así puede ser la razón de tu gordura.
Un experto británico en obesidad investigó el porque las mujeres que se van a vivir con sus compañeros, a menudo engordan. Comer porciones para hombres y darse el gusto con comida empalagosa y vinos, puede provocar un aumento de peso según afirma la revista The Lancet Medical.
Cuando se combina ese nuevo régimen con la píldora anticonceptiva o tener hijos, son razones por las que la figura de una mujer puede sufrir severamente, dice el autor David Haslam. "Los hombres son muy malos para las mujeres", dijo.
Según Haslam, la investigación muestra que las mujeres tienden a subir de peso una vez cohabitan y empiezan a compartir comidas con hombres, quienes intrínsicamente tienen necesidades energéticas más altas y por lo tanto más apetito.
"Si estás comiendo con tu pareja la cena se convierte en un evento social. Es probable que usted coma más y cosas más extravagantes", añadió. La simple lista del mercado puede pasar de frutas y vegetales a "lujos" o excesos no habituales. Las parejas van a restaurantes a cenar mucho más a menudo que los solteros.
Cambio de hábitos
Las mujeres hacen menos ejercicio cuando tienen un compañero. Algunas prefieren cambiar una visita al gimnasio por pasar más tiempo con la pareja. También es cierto, dice el informe, que los cambios en la sociedad contribuyen al aumento de peso en algunas mujeres.
Ahora, muchas no hacen trabajos en el hogar como las abuelas, algunos artefactos han adoptado esas responsabilidades. También en algunos casos los compañeros asumen la mitad de los quehaceres o en otros casos se paga a una tercera persona para que los haga.
Es por ello que no se le puede atribuir sólo a la vida de pareja el aumento de peso en la mujer. El doctor Haslam hace énfasis además en que es importante no generalizar puesto que la convivencia trae también, dice, muchos beneficios y staisfacciones.
