Esta pelea fue la mejor que eh visto en un largo tiempo.

I think TSN is going to have it on next week, check there schedule. But this mayorga guy talks alot of BS, and started talking about de la hoyas family how he does not even know how to make love to his wife and that his kids are embarace of him. At time it got every personal.

It was a good fight in the part of De La Hoya.

I honestly thought Mayorga would win however guess not. Too much smack and got the shiet beaten out of him . I personally dont like how De la Hoya fights but he won fair enough. Good for him.

Well like I said before I don't know anything about fighting and I don't like it, but on Saturday night went to a b-day party and well they were watching the fight and in my opinion yes De La Hoya was better then Mayorga, but I don't think that the La Hoya is all that, well he was fighting with somebody that is a streetfighter, so of course he knew he was going to win, I think he should fight with somebody else, somebody that is a higher boxer, anyways this is just my opinion

@Matador: Those "matapuercos" were hitting mostly air and/or they were blocked by De La Hoya...

Mayorca was all talk, bad mouthing De La Hoya, talking about his wife and mother, calling him a "MARIC0N" blah, blah, blah... after watching those highlites pre-fight, I was SOOOO cheering for De La Hoya EVEN MORE! ... It just showed that if De La Hoya was "creido" - this fak-face took the cake!

True, De la Hoya has had a great boxing history and has always fought the best. He is one of the best fighters in boxing history, BUT...... He is no longer in his prime. He has too many distractions and interest. He went from fighter to singer to fighter and now promoter.

De la Hoya is not as hungry as he once was. He's been extremely rich for a long time now!

On the other hand Mayorga is starving!! He knows that this is the "FIGHT OF HIS LIFE". Mayorga comes from an EXTREME poverty back ground in Nicaragua. He's been a gang leader and has really had street fights in which many have died as an outcome. Gang fights in Nicaragua consists of machetes, knifes, rocks, brocken bottles etc and you really go head to head with these weapons. Mayorga has the scars to prove it.
Mayorga did not train properly for the Trinidad fight. He had an open rape case in Nicaragua which prohibited him from leaving the country to train and only trained for 3 weeks.
This time he has put in the time required.

The first 7 rounds will be crucial and favor Mayorga. The posibility of Mayorga Knocking Out De La Hoya in the earlier rounds is BIG, VERY BIG!!
If the fight goes into the 8th round, De la Hoya will most likely be victorious.

There is a warrior in the fighter De La Hoya is.
There is a fighter in the warrior Mayorga is.

To beat Ricardo Mayorga at his best , you have to be able to do one of two things at a high level . Either you box the hell out of him, dancing on your toes, turning him while pumping the jab followed by the old one-two just to get his respect while generally staying on your bicycle all night, OR you beat the hell out of him by staying in the pocket all night and overwhelming him with power shots to the head and body all the while taking a few to give even more in return. Obviously a perfect blend of the two would be optimum and if anyone can pull that off, it’s De La Hoya. Somewhere between his Trinidad strategy and the Vargas game plan lies the taming of Ricardo Mayorga. The last time we saw that De La Hoya was against Vargas. In his campaign at 147, De La Hoya went 10-2 with 7 KO’s. Of those KO’d opponents, four had never been stopped and all were at the same stage that of their careers as De La Hoya and Mayorga are currently at: late.

I never liked De la hoya

UGH I was always a big Felix Trinidad fan which always meant that I hated De La Hoya. He is an idiot ewwwwwwwwwwww and he got 10000000000000% ewwier after doing his music videos
