IT HAPPEN TO ME AND IT RUINED THE GAS PUMP OR THE PRESSURE OR SOME S..T LIKE THAT. NEW CAR; SO THE WARRANTY COVERED IT. U GUYS WILL SPEND SOME GOOD MONEY REPAIRING THAT JUST BECAUSE U WANTED TO SAFE FEW CENTS ON GAS.

however i dont think most people know this , but some cons of driving wit low gas
1 you car absorbs all the bad things in the tank which messes up your fuel system
I acctually had a friend who used to run his car with low gas and he had to fix the fuel system which cost him around 700 $$$
2 if you let ur car run out of gas once you try to starter it , you could actually break your fuel pump ( i was told this by many mechanics) gettin a new one can cost up to 700 (depending on the car)
Sometimes its better to pay a bid more to avoid this kind of problems . I had a jetta long time ago and i actually had to take the car to the mechanic so that they clean up the fuel lines(only cost me a 100 bucks but still )
i ran out of gas on the highway just before my exit, the car shut off, luckily i live near keele and falstaff and the lights were green, i just rolled my way home ha ha ha
I actually like pushing it to the limit once in a while....keeps my passengers on their toes
I was driving with my cousin on the highway one time and my gas light had been on since I picked her up...she was so stressed. I actually was taking my foot of the gas and breakin slightly to make her think we were running out.
She got on the phone and called her MOM and was screming "MOM THE CAR IS PUTTISH...WE ARE RUNNING OUT...BE READY TO DRIVE DOWN THE 410 and PICK US UP"
We ended up makin it to her street and as we got to the stop sign I stalled my car purposely...And told her to push because her house was only a couple houses away...and she FACkEN DID....he Mom came out to help....
And I started laughing uncontrollably.....

A good indicator that your running out of gas: your gas signal goes below the red line... NEWER cars usually have a beeping sound even aftery ou have gone past the red lite and are at your lowest of the low... after that, a the way you can tell is if you're going and all of a sudden, the car goes OFF (turns off) and comes to a complete stop and it won't turn back on when you try to turn the ignition! HOPE THAT HELPS!!!
and YES, This Shiet happenened to me in THE USA - Thankfully it was warm FLA, and although it was nite, good old Friend CELL help me call for help... USA Highway Patrol officials came over and put in a couple of littres of gas, FREE of charge (HEY try driving there, for free gas, Baina - you won't have to pay 1.07 )...
It gets better: After the Highway Patrol officer left, I tried to turn the car on... it wouldn't - by then, The battery died on me, from trying to start the car, and having the EMERGENCY lights on for a couple of hours that it took the officer to show the first time... So I called and he came a second time to give me a BOOST - this time, I made sure he waited till he saw me off and running!
It was great though - to see the shinny eyes glancing past a mesh fence, lovely big Florida Alligators making growling "I'm hungry" noises...

From what I've heard most cars can go for about 15-20 kms more on fumes once your gas light comes on before it completely dies on you.
