DOGO....you should introduce BIANCA or is it BLANCA to CHE....who knows they might get along if they do we would be more than willing to take great care of her when you go out of town.  My husband is obsessed with those dogs he just loves them so yeah if she could get along with CHE then we would dogsit for you and you could save lots of cash.

It's Bianca, and that's very kind of you
Actually the place she stays at is at her trainer's home, and it's pretty cheap ($18/day) and she looooves her!
But if you wanna do it out of curiosity... sure, we can still try and see if they get along... she can always go over on vacation
(you just looking for a Bitch for your dog, aren't ya?)

I left my dog with two of my husbands friends while we were in Argentina - BIG MISTAKE!!  I will never ever ever do that again EVER!!!  My dog is spoiled!!  He doesn't just eat dog food I make him meat, rice and pasta all the time and well these dudes weren't going to do any of that stuff for him.  My dog got very stressed out due to lack of attention and when I got back he had HOT SPOTS....they loose hair in certian spots when they are stressed.  The vet said he was lonely and not sticking to his usual diet....my poor baby!  He is fine now and back to normal.  So next time I will spend whatever we have to when we go away and if its to Chile or Arg we will take him with us.

I would send him to Germany if I could so he could visit his homeland - lol....I just don't have the cash

My mom took her dog to Colombia while I stayed here wondering, "Why's the dog going?"   *meh*  Who knows?  When I left to Europe and Mexico last year, my friend stayed at my place and took care of my baby!

As for the doggie motel, which I've had to use, you leave them at a "daycare" and the people that work there, take them out for walks, play with them, feed them and ensure that they're around dogs their size and not with "tempermental" dogs.  There's a really good one that I take Bucky (the dog) to.  They administer any medicine that he needs, they ask us to bring one toy and a blanket that he likes.  They try to make it as "home-ish" as possible.  Also, they ask what food to feed the dog and I find that important since not all pets can eat the same thing.

I actually have to leave my dog at a doggy hotel when we leave to cuba as well. It's organized through my dogs vet and it's about $27 a day.
I just hope they actually watch over her and take her for a walk instead of just having her locked up in a cage for 1 week.

Is it legal to refuse to treat an animal ? I mean after all they are doctors !

I think they can refuse to treat certain types.. after all it is their private business...

and yeah.. the size being a reason.. .BS...

Really, none of your family members or friends will look after Bianca while your away ?

Well, in my case, if I just go for 3 to 4 days, I just make sure there is plenty of food and water in different places and maker sure that the litter has just been changed. Easier with cats.

If I go away for a longer period of time, them I ask some friends to look after them. Actually, no need to ask, my friends just offer to do it. Never had to leave them with thee vet or the "pet hotel".

As for my friends, I had babysit their pets, dogs and cats many time and personally don't mind. It is sometime a chock for my cats though but oh well, they just get use to it
