I always thought "break dancing" was the pilipino traditional dance.... lol
in the 80's it was, then in the 90's we officially passed a law to make the James-Brown-House-foot-slide the official dance, now it's breakdancing again cause we don't know what else to do.
@Duro, I REALLY HATE those 'black' filipinos... just as bad as wiggers.
lmao

I dunno, I find filipinos are like Japanese... try to be American or anything but themselves (which i'm not sure what that is anymore). Our 'traditional' dances, clothing, food come from Spainish influence but are also combinations of American/European/Malay... I have no idea what my 'culture' really is. Which is why I said what i did. And I really don't think we have/had any ancestral mysticism like the Incas or Mayans or early peoples in South America... just people swinging in trees. LOL
So I WILL defend my culture if offended but coming from it.. is just confusing.

well its been thousands of years since that happen so i couldn't tell u if I'm proud of being spanish or native but one thing i know I am proud of is being Latino/Ecuadorian.
but if we look back to the history book I would have to say native because the firts spaniards that came to latin americans where all criminals and the worst people of Europe.

So you descend from criminals?
I wasn't aware the capitania general de Quito was a penal colony.

I'm not a proud man. (I was into indian misticsm for some time) but I always clarify to people that I'm not from Spain ( ni lo paresco); but so many people don't know much geography and think than I'm eather from Spain or from Mexico. So I always say I'm salvatrucho " Y que" ,jejeje. And actually have to draw a little map cause they don't even know where Ottawa is.

Yeah, pero foro is visual, and so is the h in the middle of your nick, so it matters here.
As for the question, I'm proud of being an earthling and to have it made it alive into this world no matter how or where from. With so many things that could've gone wrong, I'm here.
I have to agree with you on that one Buffy ! I know where I come from and what/where are my roots but I don't know where I stand now. I moved to very diferent places in very important moments in my life so I have a hard time now to answer when pple ask me where I am from. I usually have to give them an explaination for them to understand me. Kind of sad actually. So yes, so far I am proud to have made it so far with minor injuries along the way !

Technically if you weren't born in spain and your family isn't from spain, your mixed. (Spaniard/native). What are you more proud of. Your nativeness or your spanishness (if that word even exists)?

If such a word exists I would have to say it's Spaniardness and not Spanishness. Anyway...
Like Xavier said, that happened long ago, not thousands of years ago, mind you, more like 500 ish.
I can't be proud of either because I cannot identify with either one. At the same time, however, I am the fusion of these two cultures so I guess I'm proud of both. Let me finish reading the book I'm reading now and then I might give a more objective answer.
