Buffy....I don't bring international acts to this city.....I promote what's already in here....
I simply don't like Cabas.....but I will give you that he is original or his style is anyway and he could even be a greaaatttt musician or producer or whatever but he has already reached his "meta".....and he is not a grade A performer/artist worldwide.
.....and back then he was KNOWN....of course over the years he had more time to expand into the Media, expose more videos and release more music....HENCE.....more people tuned in to like him.....he wasn't as "un-known" as Juanes was when he came here the first time.....Cabas already had hits out and people knew him.....it was just how he was presented to the audience I think.....the venue, the sound...it was just wrong in my opinion....
He's a good secondary act to bring for Wonderland or a summer festival like Mel Lastman.....(my opinion)....."He" is an acquired taste......I would much rather see acts like Rabanes, Enanitos Verdes, Mana.....I wanna see promoters invest that same energy in those acts.....
So yeah....the whole world can like him.....I DON'T!

I think this is a first in Foro history, but I wholeheartedly agree with Confu here. And yes, she's doubly right because of what she said about Juanes. He was here at arm's reach, and nobody knew who he was and couldn't care less that he came. I could've talked to him and invited him over to my house for dinner, he was that unknown, and look where he is now. A couple of years later, and he's the best thing to come to Toronto in God knows how long.
I think the same applies to Andres Cabas. LadyBug, I'm surprised at your contempt for this guy. It's not the first time that a good act comes to Toronto, but because people here are spoon-fed their likes and dislikes, nobody really appreciates 1) a good artist for what he's worth and 2) Originality. Maybe he wasn't that great back then, especially being so new, but I'm sure that it would be a totally different story today. And come on, coming to Toronto con una pista, you know he's not gonna make it big. People were probably like, "WFT, who the hell is that?" Again, probably same thing with Juanes.
