Duties:
To provide centralized telephone support to all AECL employees across all sites, through efficient and effective answering of incoming help calls.
Delivers telephone assistance to AECL employees, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and answering questions in a timely, methodical and accurate manner.
Demonstrates commitment to service excellence, and proactively participates in identification of problem trends which affect the user community, providing recommendations to improve bottom line costs, user productivity and service delivery.
Logs all incoming calls received, maintaining accurate up-to-date records on Help Desk software and information systems.
Actively participates in building good business relationships with ITS service partners, working with other support groups to find solutions to problems, identify problem trends and eliminate root causes.
Participates in a supporting capacity to IT projects that enhance the efficiency and quality of Help Desk service.
Promotes the use of corporate standard hardware and software to ensure legality.
Assists in identifying users´ training needs related to use of AECL standard technology.
Qualifications:
Post secondary education in a computer related field or the equivalent in working experience.
Good knowledge of HelpDesk best practices with at least 2-3 years of working experience in a telephone support environment involving: Client/Server technology, Windows 95/NT/2000/XP, IBM compatible PC applications including MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Outlook, Visio, UNIX.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Exercises good judgment in making decisions.
Strong customer service and people skills including patience and diplomacy.
Team player, with demonstrated commitment to service excellence.
