I used to go bycicle riding when I lived close to the beaches. nowadays I meet with one or two oriental friends and go to see oriental naked girls and we had wings and beer.  Nothing phylosophical there, but it keeps the mind relaxed on other matters.

Anywhere where there's peace and quiet.

I've often driven to the falls late at night.....

The drive itself give me time to thing about whatever......and once at the falls....there's hardly anyone there......and you can just admire the beauty of nature....and feel relaxed and calm.....

That does it for me here..

I don't have a favorite getaway, ast least, not in this city.

When everything become to much to carry and ME time is requiered, I surelly try not to stay home, even bymyself.

I grab a book, some music and hit the street. Long walks in the city and/or the Beaches, finally find a bench or a nice terrasse at a coffee shop, order a coffee. Read my book or simply watch the pple come and go and listen to the music with the sun warning my face.

Surprise, surprise, I have a lot in common with the cheesy couple. High Park and Harbourfront used to be my "getaway" places; High Park 'cause I lived right across from it for a long, long time and I used to go sit by the small lake there and write, and Harbourfront 'cause I worked there for a while too and loved being there, but now I just opt for the take-a-bath route, and I usually listen to something mellow, Dido or Sarah MacLaghlan. That's how I get away nowadays. Reading also helps, 'cause I can go anywhere and not spend a penny. I can't really do the real getaway thing, 'cause I have responsibilities.

Well, as we say back home, "yo no tengo ni perritos ni gaticos"... so it's easier for me to simply make up my mind and go somewhere to spend time alone.

The problem is, I am not sure not having gaticos o perritos -in the best sense of the metaphor, please- is such a good thing anymore...

High Park. I spend a lot of time near by, so it's even easy. Queen's Park, ditto, but while at schol. And Harbourfront, on account of HOW MUCH I miss el malecon...

However, this walking alone thing is getting to my head.

It's ok when one's stressed and all, but I am finding myself walking alone most of the time, and that sucz leg.

................................It's so hard to get to know people in this part of the world, geez. (not that those I know have been a great deal of help)

But from those three places I'd pick high park. Very nice place. And the mammals zoo! That's a first for me!

My favorite getaway is Harbour front. I like the drive downtown taking the Gardner Expressway and just chilling on a bench infront of the lake. I like the cool breeze you feel when your there, but I don't like the smell of our biohazard ontario lake water

My greatest escape is taking my doggy for a long, long walk.  I take him to a near by soccer field close to my house, and throw a ball for him, or even kick the soccer ball around with him....he's a great soccer player..LOL.

When he completely exhausts me...I lie on the bleachers while he runs around like a maniac

Funny this comes up. Today after, I can't even remember how long, I finally have some "ME" and only ME! time.
Little did I know I could find some comfort in a book (I'm not an avid reader, other than technical stuff) I finally feel relaxed and unstressed, if at least only for a short moment.... I was due for some "quiet" time
Oh! and then there's always the strip bar!... that works almost as well, lol

Realistically speaking.....

1. A Vacation ALONE by the beach somewhere

2. Rent a hotel room and spend all day to yourself, rent movies, do your nails, get a massage done....

3. An all day SPA and then hotel room

4. Go to a book store or a coffee shop and relax, read a magazine

DO NOT USE YOUR CELL PHONE....AND MOST IMPORTANTLY....

I like to go into a place called "Wishful land", it's somewhere in my head.  LOL. Just kidding, I dont really have a place like that but I really should, I think it would be really helpful.  What I have been wanting to do is go to a spa up north, by myself, just to relax and be alone with my thoughts.  Maybe one of these days I'll do it.

Besides the washroom, I love to go out of the city, I usually drive west to Bolton. There are very nice a lonely areas around.
