well, it looks like Sony wants to do it again.......first they let Microsoft come out with the Xbox 3 without any competition, than they do nothing to help them selfs with the on line market, Xbox live just kicks Sony in the a$$ on that department and now they are going to up their price with new technology that still hasent really made a big inpact in the market just like sony to play by their own rules, always asking the costumers to buy their proprietary shat just like they did with the sony memory stick and others........I hope HD DVD takes over Blue Ray and shuts them up.....if this happens the PS3 will be worth nothing but like the article said "possibly" so i don't think it will happen because they would be just pushing more people to go with the Xbox.

I CAN'T WAIT TO PURCHASE PLAYSTATION 3.... BUT IF IT'S GONNA BE THAT MUCH.... LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I'LL JUST WAIT FOR THE PRICE TO DROP OR FOR IT TO FALL OFF A TRUCK ....

Yeah, the game's price is the worst part
Xbox 360's games cost 59.95$ at launch, what will we expect for PS2 games?!

My Playstation 2 and PSP will still keep me happy until PS3 drops in price.
Plus I'll be too busy to worry about PS3 now that I'm getting SOCOM to play online.
That game is addictive when playing online.

DAMN!
I was looking forward to picking up a Playstation 3 in March and now it's been delayed and apparantly will have a price increase. The number going around is $900US/$1032CAD

"Once Sony does launch its PS3, they will potentially face hefty loses from its sales, mainly due to analysts predicting a cost of $900 per console, which Sony would likely have to heavily subsidise to attract customers.  The high manufacturing costs is due to a combination of its Blu-ray drive and Cell based processor costs."
