Ok, I had a situation this Sunday ... It didn't happen to me but to my mamita's van ... I'm not sure who did it, if it was a joke, if it was done on purpose no se pero I believe in Karma and who ever did it will get their merecido con el tiempo ... But here is my question and my concern ... My mom's steering wheel was stiff as stiff can be she could move forward and reverse but the steering wheel would not move at all .... My dad decided to check the engine and found all this DISGUSTING GUCK coming out of the "Power Steering Fluid" cosa esa .. (I don't know about cars at all) He just said "Alguien puso mazilla?" My brother told me it was baking powder, that guck looked like clay to me it was so hard and like yellow ... but then my dad said that my mom could have gotten killed if she was driving on the highway or something ... I'm confused Could something really bad have happened?????? I know the car is dead, I was told it would take like $3000 to get fixed

$3000 to replace a power steering pump? that doesn't sound right

 GAlletita, that's scary staff.

Ummm, in the old days most cars didn't come with power steering.  It was hard to move the steering wheel when the car was idling , but once the car was in movement it became easier to steer it.  It has something to do with friction and the laws of motion.( I forgot the equation for that.umm).

Anyways, I think your dad should look for a used steering wheel at a scrap yard, I think he could get it for a better price there.

Your situation is odd. How did someone open your car to pop the hood and mess around with the steering wheel fluid? Was there any sign of a break in?

That's the thing my mom has a bad habit of leaving her doors unlock ... itz an old van but still ... Ya le digo lock the doors pero con este susto for sure she will now ...

So that someone messed with it I'm sure not sure when or where though ... I mean it could have been at her workplace or on our driveway

But my dad says that "la mazilla" as he called it was there for a couple of days

I know the car is dead, I was told it would take like $3000 to get fixed The only time I've seen a steering wheel lock up like that was when my cousins van (Dodge Caraven) died. It was the transmission that blew out. It would slightly go forward and in reverse but it could not steer. Your situation is odd. How did someone open your car to pop the hood and mess around with the steering wheel fluid? Was there any sign of a break in? Caravans/Voyagers are famous for problems in the Steering System, even their metalic lines brake.-- Edited by God at 10:01, 2006-02-20

Yeah that's what I also heard about this type of vans.

Yup beackhome I used to have a Jetta and that happened to me. It can be something very easy like a broken hose, but If for lack of fluid you mom blew the Pump, get ready to spend big bucks
