@ Mimi - im glad Emmitt Smith won on he was good and so was his partner Cheryl he has never danced and to go from nada to what he was doing is amazing!! i loved it! This is Cheryl's second win since the show started she won last season with Drew Lachey so u can see shes an amazing dancer!!!
I dont think Mario deserved considering all the dancing he has behind him its good to see a "non Dancer" beat out everyone and win!!!
@ Julie - he is dating his dance partner they have been since the thrid episode, but it was kept on the downlow.
Well I've watched few episode during the season and the final. I have to say that i am glad that Emmit won it.
I think the competition is much more about how much can you improve and he did improved a lot compare to Mario who was "flirting" way to much with the instructor and trying to show of too much. I think that's what lost him. don't misunderstand me, he danced very well too and probably was more fluid in his movement and all but the public decided that they wanted to go more for the "ordanary man" than the "latin show of person".
And yes, Emmit partner was amazing, not as slimy as the other one but man, She had something that ake her flight on that dance floor.

Mario was actually very good in the ballroom stuff. Much better than Emit, he was horrible though and through.
I was just reading about this right now. My sister and my mother (huuuuge fans of this show)got me watching this, but I only watched a couple of episodes. The partners of the last three guys were outstanding, especially Emit's partner. She made him look so good! I didn't watch it this week, but as surprised as I am to hear Mario lost, I can only think that the girl was probably so awesome that she took Emit to become the winner. I don't know. Or maybe Mario got too cocky. These latinos tend to do that sometimes...
