Position: Web Developer

Term: 2 Month Contract



Basic Purpose

The successful applicant will work to enhance our UI applications by adding new functionality, including implementing new hosting features, adopting a fully CSS-based template solution, adding new easily customizable look & feel “skins”, modifying data access objects to use a different RDBMS backend. The successful applicant will also familiarize himself with 3rd party applications offered as part of our Hosting platform and customize their look and feel.



Job Duties

Job duties will include requirements assessment, determination of level of effort, software design, software development, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, trouble ticket support during the Quality Assurance period and production, and Software Deployment support.



The applicant will be energetic and motivated to complete the work in timely manner. Oral and written communication skills are essential. The successful applicant will benefit from working in a fast-paced environment and will be introduced to cutting-edge technology. All work is to be performed on-site.



Position Requirements

As a web developer, the successful applicant is expected to learn our current systems in preparation for supporting and expanding them. The successful applicant has:

- Minimum of 3 years experience doing web development

- At least one computer science or engineering degree

- Excellent working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, XSLT and template based content management systems

- Excellent understanding of relational databases

- Excellent understanding of object-oriented design

- Highly familiar with creating and parsing XML structures

- Very good familiarity with Java and J2EE

- Should be capable of working under tight deadlines and possess excellent teamwork and communication skills.

- Above average understanding of Internet technologies such as HTTP, FTP, Email, PHP, ASP.NET, Coldfusion, etc



Position: Intermediate J2EE Developer

Term: 2 Month Contract



Basic Purpose

We are looking for an Intermediate J2EE Developer to help in our implementation of next generation systems. The successful applicant will play a leading role in projects that include implementing new features within the hosting middleware, clustering the hosting middleware, implementing real-time communication with backend systems using transactional processing of events.



Job Duties

Job duties will include requirements assessment, determination of level of effort, software design, software development, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, trouble ticket support during the Quality Assurance period and production, and Software Deployment support.

- Excellent understanding of distributed systems, including the enforcement of transactional integrity across multiple servers

- Excellent working-knowledge of different databases, including Oracle 9 or 10 and Postgres. Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced Queuing is an asset

- Outstanding ability to mentor a team of less senior, but talented engineers

- Extra-ordinary mind for software architecture and design

- Excellent grasp of Object Oriented principles and design patterns

- Excellent familiarity with UML, including class, object, component, sequence, activity, and other types of diagrams

- Very good ability to estimate bodies of work and work with project managers to assign and coordinate resources

- Above average understanding of Internet technologies such as HTTP, FTP, Email, PHP, ASP.NET, Coldfusion, etc
